Mugato: Sounds like all those Epic/Disaster/Date Movies ie, horrible.

Actually it sounds like the complete opposite of those movies. These are actual sketches that somebody wrote. All of those movies were just shiatty pop-culture references with gay jokes. Lazy. Even if Movie 43 sucks prolapsed goat anus, it'll still be a shining pinnacle of comedy compared to the aforementioned abortions.

Well maybe it's Anna Farris who reminded me of those movies...who actually is a pretty good comedic actress (she was hotter with black hair). If someone who sees this really does compare it to Kentucky Fried Movie, I'll give it a shot.

This movie looks bad and anyone who sees it should feel bad.

Man, I remember going to the theatre to see Kentucky Fried Movie and Groove Tube in an afternoon double-feature as a teen in the 70's..... My folks had no idea WYF I'd just seen. I felt so rebellious. I remember I'dBetty Thomas with those cat-face pasties and not much else, when later I saw her in Hill Street Blues. :-)

Lunchlady: doczoidberg: I don't care; I'll see it just to find out how bad it is.

Of course, my dumbass girlfriend won't want to go, but I'm tired of missing out on things just because she's a biatch. I'll go alone, like every man is supposed to. She can get hit by a bus, for all I care.

Never seen the movie. Not a Will Ferrell fan. But damn I love that phrase.

DemDave: mongbiohazard: Actually, the term you were looking for is "marital aids". So you actually did invent the term you used. And unintentional hilarity is still hilarity.

I politely disagree. "Marital aid" is often used in print, but this implies a puritanical view that you're only having sex with a spouse. The term has started to shift to "sex aid" to more accurately (and inclusively) reflect the category's usage. A quick google search shows is in wide use, especially in the UK (particularly among online chemists).

Oh come on now, that's just ridic....

/googles

Oh shiatballs... You're totally correct. Also now I feel older because I didn't know that the terminology had time to change. So... you bastard.

CRUISE, MOORE, NICHOLSON, Bacon, Sutherland, Walsh, Guest, Pollack, and directed by Reiner? A Few Good Men.

Hardly a crappy movie.

FTA: Initially, Trey Parker and Matt Stone... were involved, but they dropped out.

Wow, that's one hell of a red flag.

When these two take the path of reason something is very, very wrong.

I am rooting for this movie to be good, but I know it probably won't be.

I've seen the trailer twice on the web now and twice in cinemas and I've laughed every single time. Unfortunately, they've probably used up all the good jokes already.

calbert: after seeing many commercials and trailers for this, my mind kept wandering to The Underground Comedy Movie (1999) made by Vince Offer (of Slap-Chop/ ShamWow! fame).

He's releasing a "sequel" to it called InAPPropriate Comedy. Looks like he re-shot and possibly expanded the "Lindsay Lohan vs. the Paparazzi" sketch.

Unless it's just a re-hash of Underground Comedy. But it looks like there's brand new sketches and I didn't see any others than the Lohan part re-used.

This - if they can pull off a more modern "Kentucky Fried Movie", this will be a quiet monster at the box office. I love folks playing theater chicken, though - "You go see it first." "No, you go see it first." That's what happens when you have to take out a second mortgage to enjoy a good movie at the theater.

Oh great...a collection of dick and poop jokes.

This is what pisses me off about so-called comedy writers like the Farrelly Bros. They sit there and compare this to KFM and Groove Tube and Amazon Women on the Moon, but the great majority of those movies were not sex or shiat related jokes. They relied on creativity and intelligent use of all sorts of comedic devices, not just base crassness. SNL sucks for the same reason. Nobody willing (or perhaps allowed) to go beyond lowest common denominator 15 year old boy humor. This movie will suck, fail, and hopefully go the way of Gigli, only faster, deeper, and with less attention paid to it.

Eh, I'll wait for Redbox or Netflix. It just doesn't look like one that's worth spending 8 bucks a ticket on.

It doesn't matter if they "want" to talk about it, it's in their contracts that they have to talk about it.

I haven't seen the actual contracts for these actors in this movie, but it's standard to have the promotion requirement in the contract.

It's also usually in the contract that you have to be in the sequel(s).

I'll play devil's advocate.

The Avengers, Dogma, Lincoln... of the top of my head.

and besides the already mentioned It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World,

Short Cuts
The Player
S.O.B.
L.A. Confidential
Pulp Fiction

Tombstone
Silverado
Clue
Murder by Death
Murder on the Orient Express

L.A. Confidential
Whatever Works
True Romance

were all excellent movies with an ensemble cast.

hmm, maybe I am mistaken with my experience of an ensemble cast leading to a bad movie (or I just remember the bad more than the good). Thanks to all the farkers for pointing out good movies that negate my statement. Also I have never heard of a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad world, and with all the mentions of it, it sounds like something I should check out.

Thanks to the Coen Brothers:
Raising Arizona
Barton Fink
Miller's Crossing
The Big Lebowski
[Fargo not as much, but still not bad]
O Brother Where Art Thou
True Grit [better then the original]

I'm wondering if I'm the only one that has seen / enjoyed it, but since I'm the first to mention it... This reminds me a lot of The Ten, with Paul Rudd. I wasn't a huge fan of the over-the-top ending, but I thought the individual stories were great.

Looking forward to this one.

I'm going. I am the queen of picking horrible movies. Atleast everyone that I am going with is warned in advance that this is going to be awful.

I'd sooner get a colonoscopy with an aluminum bat wielded by twelve large, opera singing viking women than spend 2 seconds watching that movie. Even the trailer was about as amusing as watching japanese wood beetles being anally raped by a squirrell trained in yoga.

death to smoochy is awesome.

I also like Smoochy but it got panned for having such a big cast.

apparently Halle Berry was the best to work with, it was her idea to go bare breasts into the guacamole.

( thats based on how much trust you put in a TMZ story )

I believe it. Halle berry is not afraid to take risks, and even when they dont pay off she still is a class act. Monsters ball had her doing an extremely graphic sex scene, and after she was nominated for the razzy for worst actress in catwoman she actually appeared and accepted it. She makes mistakes but doesnt let the, drag her down, at least she is having fun with her career.
