Who's on the $75 bill?

2013-01-23 01:35:20 PM
Is she completely OCD or does she think breaking into people's homes to clean them is a random act of kindness?

Accomplice sought: Gene Masseth.

Don't know if this is a "no good deed goes unpunished" thread,  a "she was casing the house to rob" thread or a "she's completely nuts" thread.

PC LOAD LETTER: Is she completely OCD or does she think breaking into people's homes to clean them is a random act of kindness?

I'm guessing Random Act of Kindness motive until I got to the part where she left a $75 bill at one of the homes she broke into. Seriously, lady?

I agree - the house cleaners around here charge at least $140.

Elyria Police went to a home on Brandtson Avenue today for a report of a "suspicious female" shoveling a driveway without the homeowner's consent.

If I looked out my window and saw a stranger shoveling my driveway, the last thing I'd do is call the police. In fact, I'd probably just shrug, grab another beer and plant my ass on the couch and let them finish.

In November of 2012, Warren was sentenced to one year of probation for breaking into a Westlake home, cleaning it and leaving a $75 bill for the homeowner on a napkin.

That sounds like a reasonable price. I would've paid her.

I love my neighbour dearly but she's a bit untidy.
That's why I shovelled the walk to her place, broke in, cleaned it & gave her hubby a complimentary beej plus a $75 invoice for services rendered.

This reminds me of once, about 15 years ago, when my girlfriend (now my wife) lived in an older neighborhood where most people parked on the street. When it snowed heavily, some people would shovel out a space for just their own car, then put a chair there (even though it was illegal), so no one else would take the space. One day, I finally decided enough was enough, and started shoveling out a whole bunch of spaces, so everyone would have a place to park. I wasn't at it long, before a couple of guys came out and started yelling at me to stop. I don't remember exactly what they said, but I think one of them was complaining that I might get some on the sidewalk.

In hindsight, I should probably have just told them to call the cops, if they had a problem (since I was shoveling the street, not their property), but they had caught me off guard, and I was too flustered.

No good deed goes unpunished, I guess.

Hmmm... when bankers, lawyers, and traders and other types who make their money not from providing real improvement to anyone's life but by margins, fees and manipulation insinuate themselves into a situation without being asked we call them go-getters and laud their Titan-like initiative.

I can't believe police actually responded. That town must have absolutely no crime.

Pigs will never miss a chance to arrest a non-violent "criminal". It makes their arrest record look good and there is little chance of dying. Plus they might get to beat somebody who's darker than they are or murder a random dog.

Lady needs to move to Lake Tahoe. There's not a single person alive there who would call the cops on someone shoveling their driveway. Companies charge an arm and a leg for that service!

How strange, shows the difference from place to place, here in Calgary they encourage you to shovel other people's walks, they even put signs up around the areas encouraging you to be a "Snow Angel"

By leaving a bill, it shows that she has severe boundary issues. Likely mentally ill. A thief would not clean and would not leave a note.

She's not going to get the help she needs, though, and something bad is going to happen.

The headline implies she was arrested for shoveling snow without permission but she was actually arrested for an outstanding warrant.

She has previously broken into people's houses and left a bill, I'd be kinda wary if she tried to shovel my driveway. Maybe not call the cops wary, more like "let me come out with my big dog and shovel the driveway myself." And fervently hope she's dog-phobic.

The headline says she was arrested while shoveling.

I can understand why that might be misread, but there's nothing misleading about it.

Reading comprehension ftw

This woman is insane. Her previous arrest was because of multiple complaints of her breaking into a house, leaving a bill, and not leaving the people alone re: payment.

Breaking and entering, invasion of privacy, and false billing. Huzzah.

You'd think she'd have learned to stay off private property. Or that more of you'd remember her from the FARK thread of her arrest. (Pretty sure I found out about her here)

$75 is a pretty decent rate. I pay $100 for the two Mexicans that clean my house. Every three weeks, my house is spotless and my wife tells me how good of a job she did getting the house clean. Apparently handing over a Franklin is hard work....

She does get me beers and and sammiches though....

This makes it even sadder. We need to find a way to bring back mental institutions funded by the state for the mentally ill who commit crimes rather than putting them in jail or letting them roam around causing trouble like this. We can't seem to understand what balance is in this country.

Well don't go getting all Canadian on us. Sheesh! (I shovel my neighbors' stoop because they are snowbirds and I don't want the house to look abandoned. Do I get wings?)

CSB
In the Soviet era, stay-at-homes would be assigned one section of a walkway to shovel. After the fall of communism, that system mostly broke down. But every once in a while, I'd see a snow-covered sidewalk with 30 feet of pristine, clean concrete in the middle.
