Don't call it a comeback.

Whereas I was thinking 'but isn't Brady Quinn already courageously couraging the Chiefs...'

I was thinking Tebow.

This is the best news I've heard all week. Place your bets on who gives him a tryout.

Nobody:
Jets:
Bills:
Raiders:
Cardinals:

Can't play any worse than Romo!

Good for him. Hopefully be really has gotten his life in order. He could turn out to be the next, way less talented, Kurt Warner. Or he could just be out of money. Either way, good luck to him...

Going back to the Golden Corral buffet line for more ribs isn't 'a comeback, JaMarcus.

I think this is unlikely. However, my top five choices for likelihood is...

1) Bills
2) Cardinals
3) Eagles
4) Jets
5) Jaguars
Honorable Mention: Chiefs, unless they take a QB number one overall.

Todd Marinovich is coming back?  WTF?

he doesn't want to be remembered as a "bust"

How about "completely forgotten as a bust" then?

my FFT name this year was Farve from retiring... i got a little bit excited hoping it was him, not for the cheering but more for the lulz. it would have been EPIC and you all know it.

Jake Delhomme is coming back?

2013-01-23 01:53:03 PM
No.

The 6-foot-6 Russell, who reportedly weighed 320 pounds in the fall, is down to 308 pounds

HELL NO

This is the quote that always killed me.  When does throwing the ball from your knees EVER come up in a game?

I also got a laugh from this. I mean at that weight losing 12 pounds is like not drinking properly for a few workout sessions. Call me when hes down to like 260 and then ill be impressed and take his "comeback" serious.

My championship winning fantasy football team name this year was the "Purple Drank Grip-and-Sips". I like to think I had a part in this potential comeback.

FTFA:

He completed just 52.1 percent of his passes in his career with 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, 15 lost fumbles and a passer rating of 65.2.

Just for fun, the same info for Monsieur Tebow...

47.9 cmpl %, 17 TD's, 9 INT's, 15 fumbles, career passer rating 75.3

Pretty similar actually.

Similar? I guess so, but Tebow threw almost twice as many TDs as picks. Walrus threw almost 25% more picks than TDs.

Don't mean to WK Tebow, but I wouldn't really call that "similar".

Thought it was Farve, I am dissapoint, son.

Pretty similar? Tebow has almost 2:1 td int ratio and a higher passer rating.

According to wikipedia, Lorenzen's playing weight was 285. Even if that's a generous underestimate, he probably weighs less than JaFatass.

I said on 12/31 that I think by hook or crook Sanchez ends up in Arizona, with Alex Smith a close second.  the FA pool, outside of Joe Flacco (who isn't going anywhere, spesh with his remarkable playoff run) is dreck, on the order of Matt leinart, Tarvaris Jackson, a McCown or two (basically, JAG city), and the draft is very thin.

Arizona will make a run at a cap casualty, which means I think Sanchez / Smith.  We'll overpay because those castaways, be they those two or other castoffs, will have their pick of the litter. The teams with QB needs will throw fat $$$ at salvage jobs.

2013-01-23 02:52:56 PM
It wasn't his weight, it was his work ethic. If he doesn't change some fundamentals he can lose 60 lbs and it won't matter.

rickythepenguin: I said on 12/31 that I think by hook or crook Sanchez ends up in Arizona, with Alex Smith a close second.

Smith won't be traded to Arizona, and won't go there willingly in free agency.

He's already done the whole "sacked fifty+ times a season" thing.

Wow, a 320 pound guy managed to drop 12 pounds. That's amazing.

To be fair, it was his wait as well as his work ethic. There's no farking way a 325 lb QB makes it in today's NFL.

Funny, Jamarcus Russell isn't spelled anything like Jake Delhomme

What an odd spelling mistake
