These are strange days, Harry.  Perhaps we should move inside.

Bontesla: Still disrespectful.

Some people are utterly removed from the realm of respectfulness, and thus should receive none. If that farknut came to make a speech anywhere near me, I wouldn't stop booing until they kicked me out of the joint.

I'm with you. The budget he proudly designed was disgusting and punished the neediest among us. Even the farking Catholic Bishops came out against it, calling it immoral. I'd even risk getting arrested to boo that soulless coont.

True, no House Republican would ever be invited to a grown-up only event, but he was just talking in hypotheticals. No reason to get overly pedantic about it.

We should be encouraging decorum at events like this.

Yes, because if there is anything that will halt the flames of hyperpartisanship it is disrespect every chance you can get

Booing a politician at a public event is the same as an elected official screaming "you lie" to the president during his state of the union.

I don't know but I'm going to publicly grunt my displeasure over it during a formal event in front of everyone. That's definitely the time and place to communicate my frustration.

"Just started the crowd booing"?
So either he meant to say "the crowd just started booing" or he's trying to take credit for having recently gotten the crowd to start booing.

Either way, I think it's important to make a big deal out of this, and go off on rants about radical leftists.

Career civil-service jobs are supposed to be filled on a non-partisan basis, a rule ignored by this administration as the analysis of the résumés (include Freeman's) of more than 100 highly partisan hires in the Civil Rights Division reveals.

Mr. Freeman was hired as part of an unprecedented ideological hiring blitz inside the Department of Justice Voting Section soon after the 2009 inauguration. Freeman had all the right credentials for a job as a career civil servant inside Eric Holder's Justice Department - membership in the Yale Law Democrats and experience with the ACLU attacking Bush administration national security policy. For good measure, he sought out representation of al-Qaeda terrorists at Gitmo.
You'll note that he didn't have any experience in federal election law. No matter. Experience in the activist trenches as a radical leftist is the top qualification at Eric Holder's Civil Rights Division.

This article is devoid of any details about the actual booing. What happened? Why is he labeled a hero? Didn't we all get pissy about being respectful when that dipsh*t from Florida yelled 'Liar' when Obama was giving his State of the Union address?

2013-01-23 01:14:01 PM
And not a peep about Liberty and Regent law schools and their mass of lackeys working for Bush.

Or Monica Goodling.  Or Harriet Myers.  Or....

I don't condone the booing.  But puh-lease.

Yeah, that's definitely worse than hiring people because they went to Jesus Camp like Bush's Justice Department did.

House Republicans hyper-partisanship has made it so that for the first time ever, the house majorityfails to raise the debt ceiling. Scum.
FYI: debt limit explained

Non-partisans should oppose house Republicans with the burning intensity of 1000 suns.

Considering how often, and how blatantly, Paul Ryan lies for no other reason than to make himself look like a man, I think the boos are well-deserved and should be encouraged.

Dude's a fraud.  Honest people tend to boo frauds.

Wrong occasion   The inauguration is a time to observe and appreciate the orderly succession of our leadership.  Sure, it may be all for show (since the reality these days is a mess), but save it for another time.  Ryan's not going anywhere, unfortunately.

Ryan's a POS but have some class, DOJ guy. Not respect for Ryan but respect for the occasion.
Your booing (and really your bragging about the booing - how old are you?) served no purpose other than to make you look like a fool

Paul Ryan will just lie and say everyone was cheering

2013-01-23 01:48:00 PM
I hate to break it to conservatives, but EVERYONE in the crowd booed Ryan, Boehner, and Scalia when they came out.

/They also booed the crazy protestor in the tree, but that's a different story.

If "Justice Department lawyer" is not a political job, then the word "political" is meaningless. That job is all about the exercise of power. It is the expression of the law's ability to compel people to action. Every action that lawyer takes is an expression of political philosophy writ large and concretely.

Not a fan of Paul Ryan but when you make an outburst of this kind during this type of event it is nothing more than hubris and demonstrates disrespect not just for the person you're booing, but for the event itself and everyone else participating.
