There was no dog in the woman's vehicle.

I'm gonna need a picture of the woman to determine this.

I thought the term "hobos" only applied to those vagabonds who rode the rails from town to town. I think this guy is just plain crazy/homeless.

You can buy dog food on a food stamp card?

I don't know if it is legal in all states but it was common knowledge that it was healthier then other food you could get on stamps, and a whole lot cheaper so people would buy it to eat.

Nice try but everyone knows poor people don't care about how healthy their food is.

Look buddy, I feel your pain. The biatch has one of them cards and can't buy nothing with it. The pups want chewy bones and kibble but she's gotta get hot dogs and bone in hams. That crap goes right through ya.

Anyhow, tell you what I'm gonna do. The manager isn't here. Go over and get a couple of sodas. I'll scan them and you take the dog food. If you aren't a cop, that is. You don't smell like no cop and I can smell one a mile away. Donuty. They have a donuty smell about them. Strange but true.

Subby may have made a subtle twist, there. Asking a stranger for a light really is an old trick in the book, for all sorts of shills and con artists.

If you're into molding Alpo can be formed into a nice looking turkey for the holidays.Add some bread crumbs
for better consistency(you can shoo peigons away to get free crumbs).

On the other hand my monthly SNAP (formerly Food Stamps) allowance is, while not luxurious, surprisingly generous: I could afford to feed a cat, a small dog or two or thee ferrets with human food by being stingier with myself. Canned tuna is around 70 cents a can, jack mackerel goes for ~$1.29, and there's always some kind of meat, poultry, seafood or fish marked down. A parrot would be just as easy: nuts, seeds, fruit, and animal flesh for those that need that.

Of course I couldn't afford to feed a bigger pet, like a Newfoundland, a bobcat or a razorback, with human food; they'd have to be fed people who still think Obama is a socialist. Or I could panhandle: "MY PIT BULL IS HUNGRY!! God bless!"

I have an old, interesting vehicle. You wouldn't believe how many grungy-looking people have found it soooo interesting and one of their family members used to have one just like it!

After the third or fourth time, I just started waving my hands at them and saying, Yeah, that's nice, thank you, and getting in and driving away.

The hobo has "Wayne" as a middle name, so he's already probably done far worse.

I've done 'compliance enforcement' work for WIC as well as Food Stamps. Not as an armed officer, although I did learn to give a pretty decent "Do-not-fark-with-me" version of the 'Clint Squint.'

/Has been effective in Miami as well as Montana

You could probably get a 50-pound bag of dog food in a couple of hours. YOU will be given $5 and a lecture about owning pets you can't afford.

We ate well on food stamps. People who say that SNAP benefits don't pay enough have never been gotten them. Or they're the people who only buy organically-grown rainforest coffee and bottled water, and think that's how everyone in the world lives. Hey, thanks for caring. Try not to have a stroke when I buy a $2 bag of store brand tortilla chips with my food stamps, OK?
