Nope, sure isn't. Hillary is testifying -right now-. You should give it a listen.

Wait, you mean an active regional terrorist group might be active in the region where they exist?!

So we get this thread, but nothing about Clinton's ongoing Senate testimony (which spoke to this very question minutes ago)?

I hope they started the hearings with a literal dog and pony show.

Close, Barbara Boxer kept saying "which brings me to a question" without asking an actual question.

How dare Obama not use his mutant precognitive powers to predict when and where terrorists would strike!

Arab Spring brought this about? So what's the alternative--install or support dictators to destroy their people at will, thereby giving these extremists a different target than us?

If I ran the universe every one of these assholes who turn the Koran into a brainwashing weapon would be fed into a blender.

Terrorist never attack when we have Republican Presidents. They know better.

That's what I've been saying. She'll be 68 in 2016. That's pretty damn old for a presidential run. Biden will be 72 which is why I don't hold out much hope for him either.

our gubmint has been aware of the situation on the border and spilling over for some time
as for benghazi
hil can defend herself as well or better than any other politician

but here's what raises the tinfoil hat in me
she CAN defend herself, and is good at it
but this was a big enough deal for her to throw herself on the sword
to take the onus off her boss during the nominations

Here, in DC..that kind of political sacrifice means there's something underneath
not that her fans wouldn't still vote for her no matter what she did

I recognize that subby is being coy ('Ooh, guess what?!"), but can somebody tell me, in straight language why these right-wingers think the Benghazi attack is a scandal, and not merely a tragety?

2013-01-23 10:16:43 AM
Yeah, no. It isn't. It isn't at least any more than 9/11 is a scandal.

It's oversight, it's human error. Those things do not equal scandal.

Captain Horatio Mindblower: I recognize that subby is being coy ('Ooh, guess what?!"), but can somebody tell me, in straight language why these right-wingers think the Benghazi attack is a scandal, and not merely a tragety?

Because back before the election, they committed to the idea that it was a scandal. They can't give it up now, because then it would look like it was just a political ploy.

I'm not taking sides with terrorist morons, but read short story by Bruce Sterling "We See Things Differently" published 1989.

take off the tinfoil hat. you're just not used to someone being accountable for what goes on under their direction.

So you're saying it's a REAL wolf this time, and it's REALLY gonna get our sheep if we don't come running? Really and truly?

Thunderpipes: has nothing to do with all the lies told, right before an election, of course.

Correct. Regardless of whether any particular statements were "lies" or not, they loudly declared how they needed investigations and hearings, so now they're following through. If you spend months talking about how you need hearings and then stop as soon as there's an election, you look like a tool.

Hey, GOP, next time you get ready to play your trump card, make sure it's not the four of clubs.

Irving's son Bill was outraged that the Algerians didn't call the White House before their operation last week. He was convince that they would have if a Republican was POTUS

So what is the over/under on the number of fingernails this terrorist has left?

I'm saying 4, and at least 3 cigar burns to the genitals.

Hills should have answered that Flake guy's assertion with: "if you're asking if I had a memo on my desk saying "al Qaeda determined to strike in Benghazi" no, I did not.

Nearly 100% of people who do not suffer strokes manage to avoid stroke related side effects.

Statistically speaking, of course.
