Well, judging by this video, we should take guns away from the police too.

For a moment, I thought the guy who blew a hole through his baseball cap was going to end up that way.

That made me cringe.

That video works a lot better with Yakkity Sax playing in the background.

Surely this is representative of all gun owners, and should be used as an excuse to mock and shame them.

Seen this before, only watched it again to see the hottie in the blue print top almost pop out of it.

Why should she? The way he is going, he's going to permanently cure his stupidity himself one day, so why bother? And he'll even be a candidate for an award when he's done. She'll be so proud!

2013-01-23 11:17:17 AM
The first clip was a cop
That second clip with the guy who put a hole in his hat with a shotgun.....it looks staged....before the shotgun goes off you can see it is in a different position.
The rest were a mix of people who can not control recoil...but maybe it was the first time the shot a gun and were practicing and getting more accustomed to their weapons....
There were also some democrat gangstas in thar who are proabbly forbidden from actually owning a firearm.

This video represents gun owners as much as the woman at who claimed Obama was gonna pay for her mortgage and gas and whatnot....well actually that woman was a better representation of Obama supporters than this video was of gun owners.

2013-01-23 11:32:48 AM
Although I don't favor gun control in general..... I do favor keeping guns out of the hands of morons. Everyone in this video should have killed themselves. Yes.... Even the police officer who was stupid enough to use a loaded gun as a teaching tool.

It would have been good if all of the bits were really fails. If i remember correctly two of those are fake and one was in a lab . The one with the "deagle" uses a sound from counter strike.Plus screw Ebaums world.

tell me again why mandatory safety training is a bad thing?

The guy looking down the barrel looks like a training video or something.

2013-01-23 12:34:45 PM
For whatever reason I always felt the ball cap one was staged, it flies right up like it is being pulled straight up by a fishing line or something.

Also, you have to give the guy who had his pants come down credit for not just reaching down with one hand to grab them, but instead keeping both hands on the weapon and dealing with it first.

2013-01-23 12:35:29 PM

Stratohead: tell me again why mandatory safety training is a bad thing?

Mandatory safety training, and any training, really only lasts until the person has completed it. Most of the dimwits in this video are hit with an incurable case of stupid.

I'm about as in favor of strict gun control as the next person, but all this video shows is that there are a whole lot of stupid people in the world. I harbor no illusions: training is nice, but we will still have videos like this.

Stratohead: tell me again why mandatory safety training is a bad thing?

Would that really help? Some people are just so near the state of walking brain-death that no amount of 'schoolin' on this subject will work.

Although, I guess it would be worth it to save a few people who are smart enough to learn proper firearm safety.

Jebus, that was incredibly nerve-wracking to watch. Though I'm comfortable around guns, and grew up hunting, I'm NOT comfortable with the general population being able to own a gun. The founding fathers didn't count on us to be this bark-at-the-moon stupid and irresponsible. Remember, a "citizen" at the time the constitution was drafted was normally a well-educated land owner. Not the general populace.

However, some of these people aren't arguments for gun control, nor gun education...they are arguments for euthanasia. They should have a license to exist.

Because it would be as effective as the laws that prevent murder.

All you do is make law abiding firearms owners jump through more and more hoops because Jamal shot 5 bystanders during his drug deal gone bad.

You punish the village instead of the bad guys....just like the soldiers at My Lai.

Who ever lets someone shoot a rifle from the position that most of the recoil challenged people are in, ie. leaning back and away from the gun, should never teach anyone to shoot.

I somehow doubt that any of the recoil ones were "gun owners". However, the owner of the gun that lets someone shoot a rifle without it tucked in or the pistol with limp arms is probably not being terribly responsible in those situations either.

We'd have a lot more murder and rape if there weren't laws against it.

/Pro 2nd-amendment. But yours is a pretty stupid argument for anyone to make
//To me "well organized militia" means anyone can own a gun, but you can be put in jail if you don't take classes on how to use it safely.

That didn't make any sense so I'll just ignore it and return to the original point.

You oppose laws mandating safety training because "[they] would be as effective as the laws that prevent murder."

Therefore, you must also oppose laws aimed at preventing murder because they would be as effective as laws mandating safety training.

Don't get mad at me. This is your argument, not mine. I'm just observing that you apparently believe there should be no laws aimed at preventing murder.

In fact, it doesn't take much of an assumption about your intent to say that your general point is actually that there shouldn't be any law at all on the basis that, technically speaking, no law can actually prevent any crime.

Would making murder double plus bad have an effect on the amount of murder committed?

Maybe bring back the death penalty?

Well now I just don't understand what your point is. I mean, I think we both agree nothing as ethereal as a law can ever prevent a material act. That's not really anything we're at odds about.

2013-01-23 03:57:31 PM
I grew up with guns and I just don't understand how those people can be that stupid and retain the ability to breath. There are certain basics that I was taught that are just common sense:

- Always treat a firearm as if it's loaded. No exceptions. Even if you saw your buddy unload it before handing you the weapon. Double-check it to make sure you KNOW you don't have a loaded weapon.
- Never point a firearm at anything you don't fully intend to destroy. Even if you think you know the weapon is unloaded.
- A firearm is NOT a toy

And you never hold a shotgun out in front of you when you fire it. People who do that deserve to have to have facial reconstruction for their efforts.

/People are idiots

Sure, I'll give you a cite. Let me walk this through for you nice and slow, since you clearly give these firearms users a run for their money in the clueless department.

Your argument AGAINST mandatory safety training is, to quote "Because it would be as effective as the laws that prevent murder." Since you are AGAINST mandatory safety training, and equate it to "laws that prevent murder", you must clearly also be AGAINST those terribly ineffective "laws that prevent murder".

Now, as I said previously, this is a pretty stupid argument to make. And if you want to walk it back, I'm more than welcome to see you do so. But don't be deliberately obtuse about what you wrote.

By the way, a far more mature pro-gun argument goes like this: in life there are always dangers. Just stepping outside on the sidewalk, or getting in a car, you have some non-zero chance of dying from something. But we can't live as a people curled up in fetal position anytime something potentially dangerous comes our way, or because died doing it. What are we going to do, outlaw skiing because Sony Bono died running into a tree? The truth is that while we could make ourselves safer by outlawing all sorts of thins, it would diminish our freedoms and change the character of the nation. Yes, some accommodations should be made: we have to wear seatbelts when we drive cars. But given the relative rarity of gun deaths compared to auto deaths in this country, it is absurd to impose on the freedom of all because of the bad behavior of a few.

And mandatory safety training for the weapon you have an absolute Constitutional right to own seems a pretty reasonable place to draw the line.
