He was the zombie/ghost in "House". The horror film, not the doctor show.

Characters like Dan Fielding and Sam Malone are the reason I can't have anything other than a physical relationship with a woman.

Actually, in the show House, Larroquette was Coma Guy, who woke up after 20 years in a coma only to kill himself so he could donate organs to his son.

I had a huge thing for Markie Post.  Kinda weird, I know.

Who didn't have a huge thing for Markie Post?

Evil-Imposter: CSB (not really):

Back in (I think) '05 when TV Land started airing it, Ithey kicked it off with an 8 hour marathon. Well, I had just experienced a bad break-up w/a girlfriend the day before. Since I had no interest in getting off the couch anyway, I sat and watched the entire thing. By the time it was over, I couldn't even remember her name, much less care about the break-up. Thank you, Night Court.

did you at least make time for a couple of Tenderfoot-Timeouts?

/it's amazing the random crap that sticks with you. I haven't seen and episode of NC in probably 20 years

Mugato: puckrock2000: i.e., either Harry Anderson or John Larrouquette is the William Shatner of "Night Court".

John was a recently recovering alcoholic then so I'd put my money on him.

If by "Recently" you mean that he sobered up over twenty years ago, then yes. By his own admission he was a drunken asshole on the set of Night Court. Would have thought he'd have apologized to everyone by now and made amends.

He was good on that episode of house he did.

Moll played a stupid buffoon who was the constant butt of all the other actor's jokes. Can't really blame him for not wanting to appear in a reunion.

What about the butch lawyer who came before Markie? Her name on the show was even "Billie". They got rid of her quick.

I believe Dan Fielding's real name was Reinhold.

I too haven't seen it in about as long, and I distinctly remember an episode where Markie Post's character was pregnant and everyone showed up to her birthing class and when the instructor was going over basic female anatomy and asked what a certain thing was he immediately replied "Mucus Plug!".

Oh. So instead of being a dick because he was in a bad mood about being recently sober, he was just drunk all the time. Ok. My money's still on him being the Shatner. He probably also fancied himself as the star of the show, which he was.

The role won him Emmy Awards in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1988. In 1989, he asked not to be considered for an Emmy.

Looks like Emmy would agree with you.

Trivia fact: Only Larroquette, Harry Anderson (as Judge Harry Stone), and Richard Moll (as Bull Shannon) appeared in every episode of the series.

Thank you wiki

FirstNationalBastard: Ellen Foley, she who sang with Meatloaf?

Yeah that's her. She actually looks cute there. I guess it was the 80s hair and general biatchiness that was a turnoff. Didn't know there was one before her. I haven't seen Night Court since it went off the air. A Captain Pike, if you will since we're on a Star trek thing (actually Robert April was the first captain but we never saw him but I digress).

Sure, they kept firing the lawyers and the bailiffs kept dying.

She's partially responsible for that thing? Some couple karaoke'd that one night at a bar we were at. Lucky for everyone this was before I had my carry permit.

There was a lot of cast turnover in the first three seasons. The first season had Selma Diamond as the crusty old female bailiff, and some broad I can't remember as the female lawyer. Season 2 had Ellen Foley as the lawyer. In year 3, Markie Post came onboard as the final female lawyer, and Florence Halop was the new crusty old bailiff, since Selma Diamond died between seasons. The cast was finally set in season 4 when Marsha Warfield came on as Roz, replacing another dead crusty old lady bailiff.

My money is on him being the Shatner on that show as well.

It's been a long time, but from what I remember, once the show really took off (it took several seasons), Laroquette was seen by some as the "star" of the show, and (because he was a drunk) he started behaving accordingly. I don't get the sense that he's a nice guy sober, but given the number of one-shot and guest appearance roles he's done in the last couple of decades, he's no longer impossible to work with.

/Nimoy has said he became bitter and impossible when he started drinking in the 70s.
//There were really enough Shats on Star Trek TOS to go around

'Hunter, Prey', was the name of the episode. The President's personal physician was on the run, because he knew that he wasn't actually sick when he claimed to be, and got off Earthforce One before it exploded and killed his predecessor.
