Good. Cops shouldn't be let off of minor infractions just because they're cops.

2013-01-22 05:46:59 PM
With all the strict gun laws here theres alot more free time.

Sorry. Just wanted to be that guy once.

This is what they blow out of proportion?

O, Canada. Without annotation that video contained nothing.

So you are just driving along and then shiat as a cop car at high speed with emergency lights on is coming up behind you and then you see the second one. So being a human and snoopy, you speed up behind them after they pass you, so you can see whats up and get a picture or video for your social media sites of what could be a major takedown of evil drug infused muslims of chinese decent. Then the emergency lights go off and they slow down to their usual speeding habits. Another couple of blocks and they turn into the donut shop. You curse, but hey you saved some time on your trip and have a few minutes to take a shiat before your meeting.

To be fair, them Tim Horton donuts are pretty good, eh...

I'm amazed that the person who made the video isn't being charged with illegal wiretapping or some trumped up charge. And the police chief quoted in the article actually said he doesn't think the guy who made the film did anything wrong. In Boston he'd be on his way to PMITA Prison by now.

Is it really all that hard for the police to follow the rules and not be a public nuisance?

What kind of shenanigans is this? Y'all gotta knock it off, right meow.

"Hanson said it's "hard to say if the officers did anything wrong" until the probe is done."

But if police spotted a citizen almost jumping a red light and then peeling off then making a fast turn into a parking lot, you bet your ass the cop would pull right up and run the plates and probably issue a ticket. Or are cops allowed to get a head start on changing lights?

Good god, you should have warned me that that website is full pants-on-head retarded. When the revolution comes, and you're asking me who's first to go against the wall, I'm just going to load this website and say "them."

Sorry, that was just the first Google hit on a very old story.

That's what we call a Chick-Fil-A emergency. I can't count the number of times I've witnessed cops racing through town with full lights and sirens only to pull up to a ChickFilA and have lunch. And no, I don't know why it was always that same damn resturaunt every single time.

2013-01-22 06:20:14 PM
It would be nice if all those control cameras enforced the same laws for police as citizens.
OK, a "real" emergency call where the perp cannot just shrug off the assault would be adjuducated.

I was just a tad too late apparently. Though I also planned to note that subby used 'being' three times, and in all three occasions it is either incorrect or an awkward usage.

I don't think the cop did anything wrong. With all the stuff they do wrong on the roads while driving they can catch them doing something WAY better than this. How many times do they flash their lights just to get through an intersection, only to turn them off right after, for example? We've all seen it and at least here in Canada it's illegal for a cop to do that unless responding to an emergency.

"We are desparately trying to find something to nail this jerk with. How dare he video record officers breaking the law!"

That cop in FL that was pulled over doing 100+ and refusing to pull over had all charges erased, you expect something to happen to this branch of the mafia? Keep dreaming.

I would've expected an "obvious" tag. Glad to know that the Canuck cops are just as bad like that.

Fellow officers will testify that the incident never happened and the whole thing will be dismissed.

Does anyone else think that maybe police dashcam footage should be copied at the end of each shift to a non-government civilian agency, preferably out-of-state where they don't have to worry about reprisal, that the contents of such information should be made searchable based on time and location, so that if any person who was in the area wants to verify what they saw, they can look it up? If such a system were to be a subscription service, it should be at least freely searchable at any public library or municipal building.

2013-01-22 09:38:35 PM
Look, guys, I'm all for holding police accountable for their actions, but in this case, really? None of the cars involved exceeded the speed limit, none broke any traffic laws. Why don't we save the righteous outrage for an incident that was actually, y'know, an incident?

2013-01-22 10:07:35 PM
So what's the big deal? I'm okay with it, nobody was hurt, nothing dangerous happened. We're in Canada, don't have too much else to do....

Love me some Tim Bits, wish we had them here...

As a calgarian I should make a point of replicating this scene in front of a cop, when I'm pulled over show them that story and get off right?

Granted I'll have to show it to a judge after I'm thrown in the hokey for stunting...

'It's not that it's hard, it's just that we humans tend to try to do as much as we think we can get away with and cops have a lot more leeway to bend the rules than us mere mortals.
