unlikely: Maybe if you put the stones in your toaster oven until they're warm but not hot to the touch. Then you could drop them in the whiskey and just breathe every delicious wisp that comes out of the glass./no seriously I can't think of a reason to put them in the good stuff

Rincewind53: The biggest reason to say no is the pure practical reason; they're really annoying to deal with. The thing about ice is that if it hits us in the face when you tip the glass up, it's not a problem. Add to that the fact that whiskey rocks always make me terrified they're going to shatter the glass from the inside if I move my hand a little too violently and they knock into the walls of the glass, and you've got a product that is completely not worth it.

costermonger: My fridge has a built in icemaker. It makes relatively small icecubes. I've found that one cube in the glass is just about the perfect amount of cooling (lower than room temperature, but not cold) and water for most of the scotch I like.This made me a happy guy when I first bought the fridge.
