Now you can shut it off forever, or you can find new ways to share your gift with the world - through the baton, the classroom, or the pen. I haven't seen that episode in at least 10 years and I still remember "I have hands David, hands that can make a scalpel sing". One of the better episodes of the latter days.

In Canuckistan these infernal machines are responsible for more lost limbs & digits than chainsaw accidents, bear/wolf attacks, pond hockey and frostbite combined!

He quickly determined that his stumps were too short and too fat to be of any use in striking keys. However, by swinging his right elbow out wide, Jim trained his pinky do the work of his missing fingers -- with frequent assists from his thumb.

Since most pianists already use their pinkies and thumbs, it is not exactly clearly to me what advantage he gets by swinging out his elbow.

I'm surprised he hasn't found a use for the amputated finger stubs. Maybe he could put miniature cymbals on them or some other kind of percussion instrument.

Hmmm. These spinning metal blades seem to be stuck. I think I should use my hands to un-stick them. GENIUS!

Kozakman: Ugh. When a lawn mower stops its safe. When a snow blower is stopped it's not.
It has a tension bar ( ie spring) that will spin and chop off whatever you stick in it to un jamb it.

In the ER we always dreaded first warm days of Spring, for the chainsaw injuries,
And the first big snowfall of the winter, snowblower injuries. Not unusual to see multiple patients waiting to see the hand surgeon with the new nick name of "Stumpy".....

Lawn mowers are far from "safe" when they are stopped and there are always reports every year from guys dubbed "mow-rons" who unclogged their mowers with the fingers they used to have.
