All Mathieu ever got in trouble for was weed. There have been and will be much worse individuals playing NFL football. He isn't perfect, but he far from the worst that the NFL has dealt with.

/LSU alum - I wish him well, but he needs to remove himself from the bad situations around him and focus on getting his life in order, with or without football.

Headline: Jets. Story: and Redskins and other teams. WHO THE FARK ARE THE OTHER TEAMS.

I want my team (the Pack) to give him a shot. Hopefully they can nab him in the third, or if he does everything correctly (combine, interviews, etc) they just use their second round pick on him. We need another young playmaker in the secondary and he could help. Plus maybe our small market will help him with his "troubles" which I understand weren't much to begin with.

They need somebody with some talent on that roster. Other than Revis and maybe Landry, who on that roster is Pro Bowl-caliber?

I don't care about his penchant for weed (although smoking the synthetic stuff from Circle K is just plain sad). I just don't think he's cut out to play in a NFL secondary.

If Belichick can make him a safety/slot corner, then absolutely. Mathieu has a lot going against him if he wants to be an outside corner.

People who don't care about the pot use realize that the NFL still tests for it and he's clearly an idiot about it, right? So he'll still likely end up suspended often.

Yeah, I'm pretty adamant about the no abuse policy but how hard could it be to not smoke half a year (can't remember offseason testing policy). The last player I remember farking it up was Santonio Holmes.

Likewise, I don't mind if the Bears take a gamble on a player as long as it's not at too high of a cost. I mean, we gave Sam Hurd a chance, didn't we. :/

Yeah, Revis was probably "counseling" him on the finer points of beating a drug test.

Yeah, good point. A big, tough corner is what's needed.

l.

Getting popped for weed as a student athlete is indicative of a larger issue - namely, the inability to follow the simple direction of "hey, don't get caught with weed".

Getting kicked off an SEC team for weed is indicative of the fact that you just can't f*cking stop doing it. And then he did it some more after getting kicked off and going to "rehab."

I hope the Jets don't go for him. He is really the only halfway decent corner that the Skins can pick up with the draft picks that they currently have thanks to his off the field problems.
