dittybopper: out-acted by the trees behind him in "Jeremiah Johnson"
dittybopper: Onkel Buck: dittybopper: I find it ironic that Robert Redford, the man who was out-acted by the trees behind him in "Jeremiah Johnson",...I liked that movie and others like it, but your post cracked me the hell up.Oh, I love that movie. Just watched it the other day. And other than a couple of other minor issues related to the guns*, his acting is the worse part of it.*A .30 caliber Hawken didn't exist, to my knowledge, and it would have been a squirrel rifle if it did. Also, I shoot a larger caliber gun than Hatchet Jack's gun (mine is a .54 caliber, bigger than a .50), and they don't kick like that.
BeatrixK: CSB - Went to Sundance a few years ago with my then BF, and it was a surreal experience. We manged to score this AMAZING condo to rent on Main Street, would call in late and get these unreal reservations...got a welcome basket delivered to our door, as well as invites to parties/screenings that we had no clue how we managed to hit those radars...I couldn't understand what people were saying Sundance would be a pain in the ass.Now is probably when I should mention that my BF's legal name is also that of a well known star and producer. (last name is spelled one letter differently, but otherwise, same thing.) We figured out that people must be thinking he was THAT guy, and not dull old VV from the midwest. It was awesome watching people's faces when we'd show up for the reservations, whipping out the ID, and they'd be all crestfallen that we weren't THAT guy and his date.I have mad love for RR and all, but he's kidding no one if the thinks the whole celebrity watching thing isn't a strong draw of Sundance now. And, given that we were getting thrown invites/gifties just on the name alone, it certainly seems like Sundance, as an institute, didn't mind what they assumed would be publicity from a 'famous' attendee./Much prefer SxSW - warmer, better food, and much easier locations to get to, film-wise. Even if it is in Texas.
