FTA: "It will help bring awareness about this area," he said.

Great. Thanks for that. Consider us aware.

Now STFU and stop peeing in the canals.

I'm sure the Great White Shark community appreciates his outreach, tastiness.

Have fun going up the east coast in spring. Upside, swift northerly currents. Downside: rough seas, schools of voracious tarpon. And sharks.

Ill keep my banality, thanks.

Yeah but I don't have to worry about getting eaten by some giant sea creature.

These folks might have something to say about that whole "discovered" thing.

No good will come of this. Unless you are a hungry sea creature.

"Paddle Boarding" sounds like an enhanced interrogation technique

Technically, it can be said that PDL "discovered" Florida, in the same way that a child discovers the secret of reading or discovers the wonder of a kaleidescope. Though not the first to do so, he discovered it for himself.

/Isn't that some state's tourism motto?
//but yes, StrangeQ, I agree with you on intent. I don't think TFA writer was being mindful of the fact that it had already been "found."

That's not a very good photo, Ponce was reportedly only 4'11" and the natives were around 6 ft tall.

According to the angry St. Augustine tour guide I had. That man ripped into Flagler.

As a FL resident, our Gov looks more like Dennis Hopper as King Koopa than a shark. But that's just my opinion.

It's similar to snowshoeing in that it's fun for about 5 minutes.

I've looked at the paddle boards at the local outdoor rec store and never have understood the appeal. It's like canoeing but you'll fall in the water a lot more. And there's really no place to stow your cooler full of beer. I guess it's supposed to be more of a fitness activity than recreational, or something.

I guess a board is lighter than a canoe so it has that going for it.

I don't think I stand much chance of getting sunburned to a crisp, dehydrated, drowned or eaten in my "banal" office environment.

Oh, and even if the weather is calm and no big creatures taking interest in you, days and endless days of being on a stand up paddle board? Sounds like loads of fun.
