I thought the same thing until I read that it was a farking drone.
Then I thought "Why isn't this motherfarker just shooting missiles at the mall to demolish it??"
My thought was "Why are they outside the vehicle if no one is holding the camera?". I figured they simply put a camera on their mast and moved the van into position. I guess they figured it was more fun spending their budget on a toy that irritates bees. Come to think of it, we don't know what the drone looks like. They may have disguise the thing like a large bee as a joke. A joke that backfired, like Bender speaking 'bee' while dressed like a bee.

Actually you can see the drone (one of those four-propeller RC helicopters) at the end of the video. Right around the point where you hear Krusty the Clown inexplicably laughing.
