This is why I'll never, ever seek help of any kind for any mental issue.

Cleary, subby's message was meant for you...Steve.

You know what you have to do.

/If a 'Steve' actually does something, would I get in trouble?

Good maybe put GPS trackers on them as well. It is this or putting them back into asylums.

My idea is to turn some of the prisons into drug treatment centers, where the dangerously mentally ill could also be treated. Right now there is too much of LEOs being asked to deal with the mentally ill.

I got away once holding one of those red capsules under my tongue, played like I'd swallowed it, and crushed it open later in the broom closet. For a tick of time, before it all turned into white dust, I saw it was a miniature electronic element like the ones I helped the Radar Corps work with in the Army, microscopic wires and grids and transistors, this one designed to dissolve on contact with air.

"For international versions of the film, Kubrick shot different takes of Wendy reading the typewriter pages in different languages. For each language, a suitable idiom was used: German (Was du heute kannst besorgen, das verschiebe nicht auf morgen-"Never put off till tomorrow what may be done today"), Italian (Il mattino ha l'oro in bocca - "The morning has gold in its mouth"), French (Un «Tiens» vaut mieux que deux «Tu l'auras» - "One 'here you go' is worth more than two 'you'll have its'", the equivalent of "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"), Spanish (No por mucho madrugar amanece más temprano - "No matter how early you get up, you can't make the sun rise any sooner"). These alternate shots were not included with the DVD release, where only the English phrase "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" was used."

Per the wiki.

Peki: On meds for mental illness, so this is relevant. And my reaction is aw hell naw. Some of those drugs can have gnarly side effects, and you have to stop using them right away. I'd really rather not get the police storming my house just because I stopped taking a med because I'm about ready to kill myself.

I'd be willing to make an exception for the violent offenders though (and no, I'm not violent. PTSD just makes me cry and run and hide. I'm not likely to kill anyone.)

As a mental patient myself, I saw this and thought it was a brilliant idea. I have problems with either forgetting my pills or stopping taking them. And if this was voluntary it would work just fine, almost all patients have moments of lucidity where they recognize they have a problem especially if they are outpatient. This just automates a process that involves me trekking to the doc for a 15-30 minute meeting. It wouldn't affect my therapist appointments either.

MrHelpful: And this is exactly why nothing will ever get done about the dangerously mentally ill. The idea on the part of some that if we do anything to keep a violently mentally ill person in check, we're no longer treating them like "human beings".

When I wrote that joke, I thought, eh, not my best work. Passable, but not hilarious. But now that it's accidentally troll-baiting people with axes to grind about... something, I feel a little better about it.

Now take your reading comprehension meds, or I'll have the bailiff hold you down while we fetch the suppository form.

alienated: AverageAmericanGuy: Don't do it, subby. He just wants to find out who you are. They all do. They hate you. They think you're a stupid motherfarking whore. Obama is saying it too. You saw him on TV. He said it too. Everyone knows, subby. They all know you're thinking that.

And this is why Fark rocks.

all comical asshatery aside.. we are talking about real-time nanotracking from within the biological environment, right? 2-way, RF-like communication.

It's an orwellian magic school bus, right?

It seems like our world is busy laying the foundations for skynet. Why? Boredom? Ego?
