Uglybarnacle: wraithmare: Uglybarnacle: well this thread is going to end spectacularly.

Also a thread-derailing question.

Say you're a digital artist that specializes in drawing anthropomorphic animals and stuff, does that make you a furry?

Go on...

/I never bookmark those kinda things anyway.

ok so im working towards an animation degree and on the side (more of a hobby) i draw alot, but I like using animal species instead of human ethnicity to help drive home character personalities more efficiently. I know alot of the 'furry' community but have no particular 'interest' (if you know what i mean) in LETS GO fark A FOX WITH TITS.

i'd link work but im gonna hold off on that for now.

I would say that no, simply drawing animal characters does not make one a furry. From my experience with the furry community (not a fur, but I respect the hell out of the group and I've been to a con - fun/long story there), the term "furry" is akin to "gamer" in that it's a self-adopted title.

What you're referencing is the "furvert" demographic which does go after the freaky crap, albeit in much smaller numbers than most of the media portrays. Most furries I've met simply think animals are cool, can see themselves respecting certain traits in those animals, and like expressing their creativity through the medium of animals. The younger and/or more hippie-based furries may have some weird-ass religion (or ass-religion, if you like the XKCD joke) around the idea that animals never cause war or genocide or pass judgement, but I've observed that they are just as much a fruit loop as the people who fark in the suits.

This case has been going on for so friggin long that Gwinnett county lost track of this guy, until he got another chance at a kid in a another state miles away. And he only got caught because a real, honest to God unbiased witness showed up, willing to testify for the state. He claims he's got all sorts of obscure and subtle medical problems that can't possibly be handled in prison. But no, he will not submit to independent verification of his claims of disability, he just grabs the oxygen canister and neck and back braces. Sickening.

Don't get me started on the legal shenanigans his lawyer has been using. I will get all Hulk smash.

willfullyobscure: Seriously, when a man or woman is older than their early twenties and emotionally still resonant with 13-15 year olds, THEY ARE ILL. They are not hip, quirky, nerdy, passionate, involved, artistic, whatever- THEY ARE SICK IN THE HEAD. older people go to older-persons events. they're out there. but if you're trawling cons for boy pussy and you're older than about 19, you are a sick fark. And that's what this guy is, no matter what else he "accomplished".

Depends; been part of the table top gaming and online gaming circles for a long while. You do have some young teenagers like that who you wouldn't even be able to tell are a teenager if you hadn't met them in real life or they told you.

htomc: It took a long time for the sci-fi community to come to grips with this because he made an awful lot of friends over the years,

he abused the emotional weaknesses of a bunch of autismals, is what. Start with damaged units that want to believe in dragons and shiat, get a enough of them together to create critical mass, and watch as the most charasmatic damaged unit floats to the top. These social networks are FULL of people that are looking for ways to justify how badly the behave or how sick and untreated their desires are, and when someone comes along who's functional enough to appear to self-actualize, he gets a lot of people backing him up just because, and similar sick assholes that floated to the top of the turd bowl double down, that's why legendary asshole Harlan Ellison has supported this pedo for so long. they're a bunch of sociopaths and sexual monsters that can't hack the real world, so they become petty kings of their own little tribes.

it's why I stepped out of the culture and am no longer a geek/nerd/fan. You need some perspective to see exactly how sick and troubled this culture is and stepping back in, even for a second, makes me want to have a long hot bath. WITHOUT any little boys.

Fixed it for you.

TV's Vinnie: anfrind: TV's Vinnie: Trivia Note: Kramer was the editor for "The Sandman: Book of Dreams" by Neil F*CKING Gaiman (what do you Gaiman-lickers say about that?)

If you're going to make insinuations about an author based solely on the actions of his editor, then I'd say you're a pusillanimous twerp.

Deal with it.

Did Neil piss on your puppy while drunk or something?

I've never once met an editor in person. Even one that I worked with for 5 straight years, I didn't know more than the town he lived in and to wish him well during the holidays. He coulda been a serial killer for all I know.

If you're telling us that Neil and this guy took vacations to the Dominican Republic together, that might raise an eyebrow or two. Otherwise, what's your point?

/I vaguely remember a rabid Neil hater a couple of years ago. Are you the same guy?
//Farked your girl, didn't he? I've always suspected he indulged in the rockstar lifestyle back in the day.

Ive known more than a few furries, it always seems to be "well sure, i draw and spank it to anthropomorphic wolfs farking eachother, but were not ALL perverts". Not that theyre not nice people, its just the community breakdown seems to be something akin to this.

Well, I would say that it is a subconscious fascination of blurring the lines between humanity and its animal origins, and so we project our humanity onto our creations. Furries, like all other humans, also really really like sex. I imagine if you take away the anthropomorphism, and I don't think it is any worse than other "mundane" internet community when it comes to the porn.

No one said that. Seems as though you're getting bent out of shape by your own guilty conscience. Is there something you'd like to confess?
