Mitch Mitchell: I am an atheist. I voted for O'Bama. I own guns. I am happy that O'Bama was re-elected.

Who the hell is O'Bama?

\he's Kenyan, not Irish, fer Chrissakes...

Mugato: t doesn't matter what his official party affiliation is. I'm still a registered republican. Anti-same sex marriage and general homophobia are republican traits

Ah yes, Still stuck in a "democrats can't possibly be bad" mindset.

I think it's weird when people freak out about Fred Phelps when there are far worse on the left, with a far larger following, that have been preaching for far longer.

Did you know Louis Farrakhan gives violently anti-white, and anti-homosexual sermons to his followers? Google it. And has done so regularly for many years. And Nation of Islam is more like 50,000 people, not 50 or so like WBC.

But NoI can give sermons calling white people "the devil" in front of a crowd of thousands, and the media doesn't care. Three WBC people hold up signs about gays going to hell, and the nation has an outrage attack. Lol. So stupid.

A lot more than 50 people believe that God does in fact hate homosexuals. They just don't care much for Phelps spewing off at funerals.

I'm not even judging "good" or "bad". Name as many politicians or people in general as you can who are anti-gay marriage. Anti-gays in the military. Anti-abortion. Anti-sex education/anti-contraception. Name the anti-evolution/pro-young earth supporters. The religious evangelicals. The racists. Which political party do you come up with the most? So does it really matter what party this cretin calls himself? And is this really an argument you're going to use? Are you going to bring up next that the democrats were the slave owners in the 1800s?

Please explain to the class how Farrakhan and NOI qualify as "on the left".

LeroyBourne: vermicious k'nid: Can't help but notice we're still paying attention to these "people" for some reason.

I know, and by their big smiles they're happy to do it. Now think about this. If a crazed gunman goes into a westboro church and shoots up the place, do the survivors protest themselves?

that's a perfect question for Philoso-Raptor

Do you mean aside from endorsing Obama and organizing marches with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Just how willfully ignorant is this class?

Mugato:

Gallup polls consistently show registered democrats a little over 50% in favor of gay marriage, 57% as of 2012. That's among ALL democrats in the U.S., not just the Phelps family. I find your insistence that no person who is a democrat could possibly be against gay marriage so willfully ignorant that I have to assume you are trolling.

An endorsement Obama distanced himself from. And they participated in the Million Man March (which was open to the public and a lot of people did)? You're going to have to try harder than that. Association does not equal agreement.

In addition: I don't mean to be confrontational here. If you have citations of leftist speeches or policy positions from the NOI I'm willing to listen. I just don't see a group of black, Muslim separatists who want their own nation within the US as "leftist".

I never said that.
