Maybe she should stop writing songs about all her breakups.

Wow. I almost give a crap.

If she doesn't want people making comments about her train wreck of a personal life, she should quit making her personal life her cash cow. Quit writing songs about every guy that failed to answer the question, "What is Taylor's dream wedding dress?" correctly, and maybe people won't make snarky jokes about how you can't keep a man for longer than it takes him to rub one out.

Come on, T-Swizzle. Get hip to the game.

Tell ya what taylor, come over to my pad. I play guitar, bass and mandolin -- we can sing about how our EXs broke our heart and then make sweet, sweet love. I'll take a 10% cut and we can live happily ever after, after!

I do all that an promise to disappoint her in ten minutes or less.

"Taylor is so concerned that the public will think she's a wh*re because she dates around, that she doesn't put out.

The source's mom shouldn't have put out if her spawn was destined to say something so retardedly paradoxical in one f*cking thought.

This. She's the one who openly uses her love life as a source of material. Why should she be shocked when people think about that and come to conclusions that are not entirely positive? Why, for that matter, should anyone be ashamed at having come to such obvious and appropriate conclusions? Her love live is a joke: why should people not joke?

If Swift wants her love life to be taken seriously, she is going to have to start taking her love life seriously. That's really all there is to it. There are many ways she could go about that, but her current course is not one of them.

Maybe she needs to put out for some guy, and they might just not break up with her frigid coont.

2013-01-21 07:02:25 PM
Because the way she handles her relationships, makes them public, sings songs about them and then moves on has absolutely nothing to do with exactly everything people say about her.

No, nothing at all. Just a coincidence, if anything. Stop being mean to Taylor, she's obviously not as Swift as the name implies.

According to Taylor, supposedly she's getting dumped/is breaking up with guys so much because she's conservative regarding sex (that's what I took from the article). So maybe she should clue the guys in that she's that type of person.

But then on the other hand if she want to be a serial dater she should be able to deal with that situation. She's not wrong if she wants to do that but I wonder why she's bothered by people talking.

I'm starting to think this "hey guys, stop picking on me!!!" thing is also part of some manufactured act as opposed to an honest response.

Otherwise, this is a staggering level of naivety...like, Joe Paterno "I didn't even know a man could have sex with a boy" levels of maddening ignorance of the world around you that only makes me think I couldn't trust this person to operate any basic household appliance even with the instruction manual and a how-to video.

She needs a lesson in Hollywood 101. Every male celeb notches his bed post with every female celeb he bangs, ESPECIALLY the bottom feeding male celebs (which is at least half the guys you date).

MAKING SURE NOT TO QUOTE SKININK DIRECTLY BECAUSE THE HTML IS BORKED, I concur with skinink.

What appears to have happened is that people are confusing her dating life with her sex life and starting to accuse her of having the Tennessee Titans lining up outside her apartment. When that really isn't the case at all. Taylor's about love. She is not about lust. Big, big difference that it appears is facilitating a lot of the breakups. If you're coming up to Taylor thinking you'll give her the most disappointing three minutes of her life, you're going to find that you've gotten the disappointing three minutes instead. Maybe you get in her pants, maybe you don't, but you had damn well better mean every single word you say to get in them in the first place. Because if she thinks you don't, God help you.

There's just no concept going on of a woman who isn't longing for sex all the time. It's the way pop culture is wired. Hell, it's the way half this site is wired:

*When a hot girl's found: 'Woo, show us the boobies!' 'I'd hit that!'
*If hot girl says they won't pose nude: 'Shut up and show us the boobies!' 'Playboy appearance in 3...2...1..'
*If it's been a while and hot girl still has failed to pose nude: 'You'd better show us the boobies soon before people don't even want to see them anymore!' 'Let me try. I'll take one for the team.'
*It becomes apparent that hot girl actually means it and truly does not intend to ever pose nude, or have sex with everything that moves: 'What a crazy biatch.' 'Whatever. I see 15 hotter girls than that at the mall every day.'
*Hot girl poses nude: 'Woooooooooo!' 'I bet this girl's hotter [picture of other hot girl].'
*Hot girl is caught in some stage of undress or sans makeup against her will, is outraged: 'Hahahahahaha!' 'Oh, shut up, you wanted it.'
*Hot girl does or says anything of consequence after being seen nude: 'Shut up, nobody cares anymore.' 'Picture NSFW' '[aforementioned embarrassing picture]' 'Hey, look at this much hotter girl I found!'
*Hot girl hasn't been seen for a while, is spotted years later far below previous standards of beauty: 'Oh, woe is me! Now we'll NEVER have sex!' 'Hey, look at this much hotter girl I found!'

Taylor has reached "It becomes apparent that hot girl actually means it and truly does not intend to ever pose nude, or have sex with everything that moves" and is getting the attached backlash for the crime of failure to put out. (None of which, by the way, is likely to come from the teenaged/early 20's women that make up the bedrock of her fanbase, who are more likely to go take a similar attitude towards sex in their relationships because of it.)

Well, nobody pays attention to her non-love-life songs, Dinobot. And yes, she does have them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6mrKaSmSj4

That one, for example- The Lucky One- seems rather apt. (Fun fact: she puts little hidden phrases in her liner notes within the lyrics. The hidden phrase for The Lucky One was "wouldn't you like to know". Whoever she was referring to here, she sure as hell didn't want anyone figuring it out.)

2013-01-21 08:10:02 PM
Maybe stop letting the public into all of your relationships? Then writing songs about the men after they "break your poor widdle heart". Then people might stop making fun of you. This also goes for dating gay guys. Seriously it's such a joke at this point. Every guy that dates you I'm just going to assume is gay as a rainbow.

2013-01-21 08:10:50 PM
I haven't heard any of her songs and I barely know who she is but I know that the common perception is that she dates around. HTH the convo.

(other smart stuff redacted for space)

As a heterosexual female, my annoyance with her stems from what I see lots of people do, but never get called out on, and it has nothing to do with whether or not she farks any of these guys. Person A does something stupid, Persons B-E call them out on it, Person A complains about Persons B-E noticing and then making comment. In this case, the "something stupid" is making her personal life tabloid fodder. If your bread and butter is writing songs about failed relationships, and other people crack jokes about how many of them you've had, do you really have the right to complain about it?

I don't care if she has sex with 1 guy or 100 guys. That's between her and that guy (or guys). I just think it's disingenuous to make money off of whining about your love life, then when other people make fun of you for it, get all butthurt. Should people leave her alone? I don't think anyone is really being malicious about it. I think it's more like what happened when Adele won the Golden Globe and everyone joked that Taylor's next album is going to be about how she lost the award to someone else. She opens herself up to that kind of ribbing when that's how she makes her living, essentially.

2013-01-21 08:16:39 PM
Well, maybe she should send back the checks from Muzak and all the other stores I hear her nonstop in and then maybe I won't be so farking sick of her?

\seriously, you can tell how long an hour is by waiting for a Taylor Swift song in a Kohl's

Gosling: Taylor's about love. She is not about lust.

No, she's not. She's about pretending that her lust is love. All this would go away if she quit pretending to be in love with guys she just wants to bone. That said, I don't think she's doing it on purpose, and I don't think she's trying to fool the public; I think she's trying to fool herself.

2013-01-21 08:25:10 PM

Which, apparently, is what they all end up doing.

She seems to desperately want to be in a deep and loving relationship but she doesn't want to do any of the things that entail a deep and loving relationship.

The Internet is right: Her next album better be called "Maybe It's Me".

2013-01-21 08:30:24 PM
I'm not really sure what happened with the Golden Globes thing, really. Taylor didn't even look to have actually done anything that night apart from glare at Adele. I barely was even aware she was in attendance that night until her category came up. Tina and Amy made a crack about her like they were making a crack about everyone else, Michael J. Fox adds to the joke, Taylor said absolutely nothing, and the media ran with it until it morphed from 'playful routine ribbing' to 'actual scandal' to the point where Michael felt he had to call Taylor and apologize. Tina and Amy didn't really do anything untoward; the joke was in bounds. Michael didn't do anything untoward; his joke was in bounds. Taylor didn't do anything untoward; she has rice-paper-thin skin but usually enough poise to wait until she gets home before showing it. It was the tabloid crowd that felt they had to pile on and make a big thing of it. And when Taylor's fans overreacted to it, that just made it even bigger.

I will say, though, that that was the first time I've seen Taylor have any sort of reaction at an awards show other than her usual 'oh, I wasn't going to win anyway, congrats/OMGOMGOMGIWONIWONOMG'.

You know what would help facilitate this search for "true love"? ....respect.

Because right now no guy respects her, and they don't respect her for the way she's handled her previous relationships. If she truly wants a guy to respect her and love her and all that romantic drippy shiat, she should start by growing up and not dragging her love life through the media at the slightest provocation. Because the book's out on her now, and every relationship is getting shorter and shorter when each guy realizes what she's up to and goes "whoa, I don't like this, if I do something she's gonna write a song about me. I better bail."

Love is about trust, respect, and openness -- three things completely antithetical to every one of Taylor Swift's relationships.

It starts with her.

What a load of bullshiat dude. People are sort of tired of her in general. It's nice that she has morals and apparently sticks to them, I guess. But she then turns around and uses that shiat to sell her albums, which is the entire problem. That's her mechanism for sale/write/etc. and she's now saying 'whaaa!' about it.

Guys on the internet play the 'over hormoned male' card as a joke. If you don't realize that it's time to get off the net.
