You know, lost in the glare of the unnatural pectoral muscle rendering, no one ever mentions Cap's lack of nose. I hope to redress this issue with my post.

All of liefeld creations have teeny lines for mouths, unless they open, then they have a line of teeth that are evenly matched and curve up like baraka's jaw. I'm pretty sure that cap there could not eat a pea

Apparently Glory has gained anatomy since he created her, and um... lots of muscles. I can't fap to that, but apparently the comic has gotten pretty good. Some comparisons here.

Man, the 90s were a terrible decade. Y'know how you get all these people who came of age in a certain decade who love it? Well, the 90s were my decade for that, and I hate it. I'd forget the 90s ever happened if I could. Nothing good came out of them.

Pretty much. Deadpool was originally just a knockoff of Deathstroke The Terminator until Joe Casey started writing him, and Shatterstar was boring until Peter David put him in X-Factor.

Are Liefeld "original" characters good for anything except satirizing themselves, though?

At least the writers are aware they're doing it this time around.

Supreme is basically the personification of Alan Moore's hard-on for Silver Age Superman.

Invisible Pedestrian: "Rob Liefeld is to today," says Rob Liefeld, "as Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan are to my kids."

Wow.

That was the line that slapped me in the face as well. Not because I was offended by it (which I was, morally), but because it's true.

He may be an asshole, he may be the worst affront to human anatomy since Larry Flynt, but he's undeniably one of the 5 people that built the modern comics industry. I grew up with Simonson, Steranko, Moore, Gaiman, Claremont and Aparo as the folks who laid the foundation. Kids today, they're reading the result of what Jim Lee, Liefeld, and the rest laid down in the 90s. We (as old nerds) can recognize it as crap now, but GI/GO applies. Until the world shakes down a bit and we enter into a new "age" of creativity (as opposed to a marketing age), these are the titans that guide development.

Hopefully it won't be for 40 years, but it's a possibility. That's the same as 10 4s. And that's terrible.

...some old guy that Dad keeps talking about as a legend, even though none of them have done anything of note since the 1990s?
