Mods could choose between Jeff Healy and The Raconteurs(?) for Monday Blues and they chose this. Huh.

Dancin_In_Anson: Jack's influence.

1965 - Son House

2000 - Jack White

Even if you dislike Jack White, he deserves credit for bringing the blues to a new audience.

And just because it gives me chills every time I hear it, Blind Willie Johnson - Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground

Snapper Carr: And just because it gives me chills every time I hear it, Blind Willie Johnson - Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground

Posted that one a couple of weeks ago. Great stuff.

I really dig Jack. I wasn't that much of a White Stripes fan when they were together, but I've started to listen to them more and more...add Dead Weather, The Raconteurs and his solo work and I'm hooked. Saw him at ACL and loved the show although it was way too sort. He played Cain's Ballroom a few nights prior and did a 2+ hour show with both bands...I would have loved to have seen that!

Left Lane Cruiser: loud, raunchy, raucous drum-n-slide guitar two-piece from Indiana. One of my favorite "finds" in a long while.

More LLC.

Aw hell, how bout jus' one mo'.

Snapper Carr: 2000 - Jack White

That's one of my absolute, all-time favorite live performances period. I am by no means a Jack White / White Stripes acolyte simply because 99% of his music isn't to my liking, but I truly respect the hell out of the guy and will pay attention to whatever it is he has in the works (whether I like it or not is a different matter).

Another of White's big influences: Dex Romweber of the Flat City Jets and these days The Dex Romweber Duo (the other half is his big sister on drums). Another guy to catch live if you can. Dude belts it out and she's a hurricane behind a kit.

Lots of respect here for JW; he seems like the real deal for rock.

This, nice as it is, sounded like bad Led Zepplin, tho'.

Sorry. I still think Jack White is WAAAAY overrated. Nothing he does is impressive in anyway to me.

I was kind of the same way for some time. Started watching his live shows and really started getting into his work.  Give this a try...maybe you'll see or hear something you like. One thing I really like is the fact that he has no set list when they go out on stage.
