(KITV Honolulu)   Boudoir photography has become popular among wives of deployed soldiers. And why not - they can send the pictures to their husbands, and post them on dating sites too. (Slideshow)   (kitv.com ) divider line

Ok, I know I am not French, but have I been wrong all of these years on the meaning of the word "Boudoir"?

I'm astonished and saddened by the fact that no one has made any effort to praise or thank these women for trying to indicate that they care and are looking forward to having life with their husbands the way it was before deployment. Instead, these examples of loving women are criticized for shortcomings in their appearances. By true Adonises, no doubt!

Posing in a swimsuit or a nightgown is really scary. These ladies sucked it up for their husbands or SOs.

demaL-demaL-yeH: littlett's: I think it takes a lot of guts for a girl to pose for pictures like that in the first place.

You had to bring up commissary queens, didn't you?

/To the corner with you.
//Old_Chief_Scott report to my place for the only mind bleach that works: single malt Scotch that's old enough to vote. Bring chasers.

I'll drink your Scotch but I'm not showing you any pictures of my wife.

kendelrio: That nothing! A cousin of a friend of my sisters college room mate told me about when their brother was in Desert Storm and his wife sent him a VCR tape (get off my lawn) of "Rambo". 20 minutes into the movie, it cut to a homemade pRon of her bangin two dudes! She looked up at the camera and said "I want a divorce!"

/true story bro!
// :/

That Urban Legend has been going around since, well at least since Desert Storm....

Always some line about guy gets tape, guy watches tape, SO made pron with some dude/chick/goat, then says; "Surprise! I want a divorce!" or "I'm leaving you!" or some b.s.

Urban Legend is Urbanny.

It takes a talented photographer to find just the right angle to make an ugly chick look decent. A hot chick can just snap a selfie to create a fap worthy masterpiece.

idiom (Latin: idioma, "special property", f. Greek: ἰδίωμα - idiōma, "special feature, special phrasing", f. Greek: ἴδιος - idios, "one's own") is a rendition of a combination of words that have a figurative meaning. The figurative meaning is comprehended in regard to a common use of the expression that is separate from the literal meaning or definition of the words of which it is made

A note about cheating in the military: military usually cheats with other military, and civilian spouses usually cheat with civilians, but not in every case though. It mostly happens among the enlisted, and that's because the enlisted get married too young too fast, and spend their youth TDY a helluva lot. Officers face too many career consequences for cheating (There are a lot of unwritten rules for officers), so when it happens it's kept more discreet.

Harry Freakstorm: When I was in Panama right after the invasion, there was an E-6 who had a boudoir photo of his wife/girlfriend on his field desk. Best thing I can say is that the photographer tried. He really did try. Usually, cleavage and smiles make me happy. This made me want to go out and chump slap a sloth.

Or, he trolled you like a pro, and never knew the girl in the picture.

wambu: "Boudoir photography" has been a viable business model since at least the 80s that I'm aware of. Military wives cheating on deployed husbands has been going on since there have been military wives.

/post moar pics, pls

And deployed husbands cheating on wives at home, nevermind impregnating them and bringing them back home, even if they have a couple of rugrats back home

I'm with you.  Being away from my wife while I was deployed was a strange feeling... never thought about cheating, but at the same time, I'd reach a certain point every deployment where the relationship felt strained.  Getting the occasional fun picture of her helped (nothing naked... can't trust gov't IT).

You don't like how these women look, don't marry 'em.  Somebody obviously likes what they see.

I am the typical snarky Farker, but I have to agree with you on this. These women took the time to do something they thought would cheer up their husbands/SO's and we call them "butterfaces" etc?

I'm no white knight but I think the comments should have more "Good for you, your soldier husband is a lucky guy!" and less "Not much to look at."

And I'm sure no military men ever cheat on their wives when they're deployed, no sirree. Every damn one of them remains chaste and comes home after a year away to find out that they have a newborn baby.

JerkStore: Soymilk: I had some done for Mr Soy before I became pregnant and subsequently hagged from having babies. Most women hardly ever get all glammed up and toss our hair for the camera, so it was fun for me and good for him too. I had the photog do a coulple of shots of me in a cocktail dress so Mr Soy can have a picture for displays in his office, and the rest of the roll was lingerie and high heels stuff which he keeps secreted in his home office.

...As well as the various internet sites where he's posted said photos to show his buddies and the world at large.

That explains why we keep getting "residual" checks in the mail that he won't explain.

I don't know about this "has become popular" headline. I still have some that Mrs._Old_Chief_Scott sent me about 20 years ago safely tucked away.

well that was a bit of a drag. some real beasts in that slideshow. If i was over seas killing commies for my country my lady and all of her friends in her church knitting circle better spread their legs drop their tops and give me something I can work with. "Oh honey a picture of you in a bikinni" or "Hell yeah I can see my babies tits and deep into her babby maker"

It is pretty bad when the headline contains the entire story.

I can't say that I approve of the idea of them using the photos to pick up other guys, but it is fun to have a photo session like that so I can understand at least that aspect of it.
