It is pretty bad when the headline contains the entire story.

I can't say that I approve of the idea of them using the photos to pick up other guys, but it is fun to have a photo session like that so I can understand at least that aspect of it.

idiom (Latin: idioma, "special property", f. Greek: ἰδίωμα - idiōma, "special feature, special phrasing", f. Greek: ἴδιος - idios, "one's own") is a rendition of a combination of words that have a figurative meaning. The figurative meaning is comprehended in regard to a common use of the expression that is separate from the literal meaning or definition of the words of which it is made

When I was in Panama right after the invasion, there was an E-6 who had a boudoir photo of his wife/girlfriend on his field desk. Best thing I can say is that the photographer tried. He really did try. Usually, cleavage and smiles make me happy. This made me want to go out and chump slap a sloth.

well that was a bit of a drag. some real beasts in that slideshow. If i was over seas killing commies for my country my lady and all of her friends in her church knitting circle better spread their legs drop their tops and give me something I can work with. "Oh honey a picture of you in a bikinni" or "Hell yeah I can see my babies tits and deep into her babby maker"

It takes a talented photographer to find just the right angle to make an ugly chick look decent. A hot chick can just snap a selfie to create a fap worthy masterpiece.

Is that some kind of a tour I can sign up for if I go to Panama? Like, we all rent a minibus and drive into the jungle to chump slap sloths? Or is this a euphemism I don't understand?

Just regular pics. One of her girlfriends helped her with them*. They weren't hugely revealing but when you've been gone on the ship for four months it doesn't take very much.

Being single in this city was horrid. My wife was an import from Florida, so I avoided Louisville women. A lot of them are of the mindset they need to get married as early as possible, so any single woman over 25 is most likely

B)Has kids
C)So hipster/artsy that you're going to get a feminist spiel every conversation.

My wife had a test. If the guy offered to take her to Red Lobster or Olive Garden, he didn't get a date. She also excluded guys based on if they owned a mustang.(Noone wants to date people from Dixie Hwy or Fairdale)

When I asked her out, I was feeling cynical because the last couple girls I had taken on dates to non-chain places were bewildered when faced with a real menu, so I took her to Vietnam Kitchen to see how much I could traumatize a Louisvillian, little did I know that she ate there enough the owner would wait on her personally.

HAHA,  I married a guy that had two, a 67 and a 94GT.  I really didn;t discriminate based on where they wanted to go to eat, it was more based on what they wanted to do after.

Our first date was actually in Lexington, I can't think of the name of it, it it sounded like some mobster place to me at the time.  Most of the people in the Highlands area typically eat at non-chain places.  It can be a mixed bag though.

"Boudoir photography" has been a viable business model since at least the 80s that I'm aware of. Military wives cheating on deployed husbands has been going on since there have been military wives.

And I'm sure no military men ever cheat on their wives when they're deployed, no sirree. Every damn one of them remains chaste and comes home after a year away to find out that they have a newborn baby.

I'm astonished and saddened by the fact that no one has made any effort to praise or thank these women for trying to indicate that they care and are looking forward to having life with their husbands the way it was before deployment. Instead, these examples of loving women are criticized for shortcomings in their appearances. By true Adonises, no doubt!

Posing in a swimsuit or a nightgown is really scary. These ladies sucked it up for their husbands or SOs.

/This is why no sane Farkette will ever BIE.

I was complimentary of the women that do this. I only insulted the idiosyncrasies of dating in my hometown.

I am the typical snarky Farker, but I have to agree with you on this. These women took the time to do something they thought would cheer up their husbands/SO's and we call them "butterfaces" etc?

I'm no white knight but I think the comments should have more "Good for you, your soldier husband is a lucky guy!" and less "Not much to look at."

I'm with you.  Being away from my wife while I was deployed was a strange feeling... never thought about cheating, but at the same time, I'd reach a certain point every deployment where the relationship felt strained.  Getting the occasional fun picture of her helped (nothing naked... can't trust gov't IT).

You don't like how these women look, don't marry 'em.  Somebody obviously likes what they see.

I do boudoir photography on the side. I hate HATE doing weddings, and most of the wedding photogs around my parts don't do boudoir, so it's a win-win. I'm usually booked every weekend and the women doing them range from 'average' to 'like the fist of an angry god', so it's all good. Unfortunately, my wife is my assistant so I don't ever get to drop phrases like "you know, if I were your husband, I'd want to see more of a Hustler style photo than this Playboy stuff...."

A note about cheating in the military: military usually cheats with other military, and civilian spouses usually cheat with civilians, but not in every case though. It mostly happens among the enlisted, and that's because the enlisted get married too young too fast, and spend their youth TDY a helluva lot. Officers face too many career consequences for cheating (There are a lot of unwritten rules for officers), so when it happens it's kept more discreet.

This.

My best friend in HS married a girl who was a bit "damaged goods" (she was a year or two behind us in school; her sometime BF raped her and got her knocked up; she had the kid) and enlisted.  (Tried to get me to enlist too, but failed.)  A couple years and another kid later, he got shipped to the desert.  While he was gone, she had an affair with another guy on base and neglected their kids to the point that one of them died and the other one almost did.  I lost track of her after they sent her away; he's fortunately remarried (to a much saner woman) and has some more kids, but... geez.  I can't imagine going through that kind of thing.
