Is this really what Fark has been reduced to? Posting a link to a site that stole an image from a front-page Reddit post from a day or so ago?

And if the author of the steal had bothered to read the comments, there were a bunch more interesting speculations in the thread to include.

If Fark only posted things on the day they happened, there wouldn't be much content here. Also, it's not a repost unless it was posted on Fark already. Not everyone cares about reddit.

That said, this was hardly worth posting. Meh, it's Monday morning.

This just in, Tarentino reuses the same names and dialogue over and over again... A LOT.

This isn't "Easter eggs", or some "interconnected universe", its laziness...
Unless anyone believes the reference to "Alabama" in Reservoir Dogs is really a hidden direct reference to "Alabama Whorely" from True Romance.

He's reused everything from didel eyed joe, to damned if I know.

Seeing as how imgur.com URLs more or less follow the subreddits they're posted to, there's absolutely no reason to visit the shiatwall-o-text.
imgur.com/r/ass
imgur.com/r/gonewild
imgur.com/r/funny
imgur.com/r/aww
imgur.com/r/wtf
imgur.com/r/onoff

etc.

Since the only redeeming feature of reddit was the willingness of its readership to remove their clothes and post pictures, having a direct link to the place where almost all of them get posted is obviously a tremendous improvement in user experience.

You know what? I have.

I've been coming here since 2001. I remember the old Fark, when it was fun and freewheeling, and before Drew decided he wanted to make the site corporate-safe. Back when epic threads really were epic.

And I, too, was annoyed by people saying the same things I'm saying about Reddit until a year or so ago. But then I actually checked Reddit out. And nearly all the content on Fark really was just re-posted from Reddit a day or so later. And users have a real impact on the community without having to pay $5 a month. And discussions aren't 90% troll bait/troll bash because that stuff gets downvoted. Where there is a specialized discussion area for whatever your interest (though the less said about some, the better). Anyone saying they can't follow Reddit or hate the design are either not actually using the site, stupid, or missing the point, though someone can obviously prefer one over the other.

I've left and I've not been back, and felt I missed little. This story (a content steal of a repost) struck a cord enough for me to log in an post again. Consider this a brief call to an ex after seeing her hit rock bottom in public.

It is a open source site with hundreds of available skins and themes so you can pick a design you like. You really couldn't find one you liked? Or are you just complaining because the default skin was too confusing for you and you couldn't figure out how to change it.

Because if you have any hobby or interest there are likely subreddits with a few thousand other people get together and talk about that hobby. Anything from /r/campingandhiking, /r/origami, /r/dogtraining to /r/fantasy, /r/running, and /r/homebrewing.

Reddit is really one of those sites if you want something out of it you need to put some effort into finding sections that interest you.

You know what, it's all content steal, when it comes down to it. Here, there and everywhere.

But it's like being orgasmically in love with Apple and constantly feeling the need to rip on the PC. Sure, you remember when MS DOS was the shiat but let it go. Play with your iPhone, iPad and be cool with Reddit but your confidence in your choices is not exhibited well this way.

Call me farking crazy, but isn't the entire point of Fark to post ridiculous and pointless "news" stories so that we can all point and laugh as a group? Who gives a shiat what the source website is, as long as it's utterly un-newsworthy, I'd say it's meeting the farking criteria. If anything, you should be outraged that REAL news flashes end up on Fark's main page. But I forgot, this doesn't have so much to do with Fark so much as it has to do with you proclaiming how you "saw it first" somewhere else.
