From my experience. Insomnia, Paranoia, reduction in effective depth perception while driving (dude I thought I was going like 90 but I was going 30!", overeating, motivational problems (though this may be because I was a young twenty something), burning lungs, hacking cough, phlegm, red eyes, dry mouth.

I quit because of the insomnia and paranoia. I just couldn't sleep after getting high, even if I baked in the morning. For the paranoia, I just didn't want to be out in public. I couldn't smoke socially, even with people I knew. Did I say that weird? Was that weird how I said it? Do they think I'm weird? That person knows. That cop knows. I can feel my bones, I think I might be dying. etc. etc. etc. The paranoia didn't develop well into the late stages of my smoking career. Never got that when I started.

Pot has negative side effects. I only drink now. No bad side effects there!

You don't have to SMOKE weed. People do that because it's more efficient, and pot is expensive because it's contraband. So cross lung problems off the last. If it were legal, I'd just as soon eat it.
