Everytime I see the name Jodie Foster, for some damn reason it always registers as Jodie Sweetin in my brain.

"Hilarious" is being comically overgenerous. Last night's show was not good, they wasted Jennifer Lawrence. It's been a very good season, IMO, but last night was bad.

Yes. Terrible first sketch.

In honestly don't think I laughed once throughout the whole show.

I watched until the first set of the Luminaries, then I had enough.

If you say so.

All the more impressive considering the band that played on SNL were called The Lumineers.

It wasn't hilarious. i'm with everybody else--I watched through the first commercial break (I like Jennifer Lawrence) and then gave it up.

2013-01-20 01:55:56 PM
I don't think this year has been anything spectacular, but Jennifer did a pretty good job last night with what she had. To call that cold open "Hilarious" is a big stretch.

2013-01-20 02:05:57 PM
Referencing things is the same as comedy!

2013-01-20 02:08:11 PM
I liked last nights episode

2013-01-20 02:19:31 PM
Yeah, no.

2013-01-20 02:23:41 PM
The Starbucks at home faux commercial was hilARious. The Foster thing was ok. Everything else... even Weekend Update, sucked the big one.

And WHO IS PICKING THE MUSICAL GUESTS?!?!?1 Holy CHRIST, are they horrible. That hipster POS "band" last night made me want to punch a dog in the face. Repeatedly.

Anyone with a link for us poor unfortunate Canadians that NBC hates?

yeah that Piers Morgan as Queen Elizabeth was awesome....

who is that third string crap artist? Keannu Reeves can do a better accent than that...

We have to wait 'til tomorrow for Global's access... or spoof a US IP, which I in no way endorse.

"Hilarious' and 'SNL' should not be used in the same sentence.

That Is All

The hobbit sketch was mildly funny...I liked the apple maps and ikea dresser. But like everything else, it dragged on too long. Didn't really laugh at the manti te'o or lance Armstrong bit, though- I've already read a ton of better jokes for that.

I stand corrected.  Didn't they used to delay a day?

I was excited that Jennifer Lawrence was hosting and the writing was just awful. Wasted what could have been a hilarious show.

Yup. Their writers now are absolutely horrendous.

sorry for the thread jack:

global has a team of 55 to 60 year old union hacktards who think REALPLAYER is "cutting edge"...

the quality of the stuff they stream is sooo poor. The IT department are morans.

plus, the sites barely work half the time.

yeah because she is known for her brilliant mind and rapier wit.

she is an idiot. you get a guest with some brains on there and you have a 75% chance that the show will be alright... it also depends if they are "flown in".

the Baldwin stuff for example: he goes out a week early and writes with them or commutes. that's why those episodes were funny.

Katy Perry drops in three days before air because she's launching a new turd and the show is a fail.

then, there is what they call a "soft week" where they dump as much unused crap as they can...

Stop mandating that a percentage of all Canadian programing be produced in Canada and take back all of your actor/comedians and we'll consider it.

Yes, the only 2 voices of reason in Jodie Foster's life: Robert Downey Jr & Mel Gibson.

Actually she kind of is known for being fairly funny, witty and goofy in interviews.

Thought the Hobbit skit was funny but did run too long. Would have been better as a string of 30-45 second "commericals" throughout the night.
The dinner skit was pretty good and the Hunger Games interview was funny.

The writing is weaker. They've lost some talent from last year and they are loosing some more soon. Sudeikis will be moving on sooner than later....either to do movies or to bone Olivia Wilde at Kansas games.

2013-01-20 04:30:07 PM
that was very funny.

A woman I know was the water safety person Hunger Games, she says Lawrence was a really nice person and a pleasure to work with. I keep telling her to bring her by the house next time she's in town to work on a Hunger Games movie.

When you're mainly relying on the celebrity du jour to bring in your ratings, you should have something a little better than Top Dog Chef.

...the Lumineers are up for a grammy. They're hardly 'hipster'. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it hipster, and you look like a moron.

/their albums sucks balls, 1 poppy song and then thumb twiddling folk-country-hipster shiat
//hipster being the only word I can find to describe that album, because I wasted 9.99$ on it

Oh, and I want my 5 minutes back. If that was 'hilarious' I'm the queen of fark you town.

What pissed me off there was you got ONE SKETCH after the first commercials then immediately got more commercials.
