Hmm. Not sure how that would taste. I suspect it'll be repulsive, though. Cayenne pepper WITH honey, bourbon and lemon juice?

Hardly new, though. I caught a nasty case of the flu a few years ago (when I was still living in Cleveland) and grabbed a pint of it at a bodega in Little Italy. Though granted, Jeni's is based in Columbus so it might have been Ohio-only for a while.

The bourbon and cayenne pepper are both stronger than you'd expect, so it's a bit of an acquired taste. That said, it worked a damned charm on my sniffles.

I've probably said it at least once before this, but Purple Door's Chocolate Whiskey ice cream is the best thing you could possibly eat. You pretty much have to be in Milwaukee to find it, though, and get to their store before it's sold out.

Get drunk and fat and have really clear sinuses all at once.

A lot of apperatifs (especially the thicker, creamier kind) go really well with ice cream. Drambuie, Kahlua, Café Royal, etc. In fact, some apératifs that are unbearably strong or sweet on their own are saved by the magic of ice cream.

And who doesn't love trifle and rum cake and so forth?

I had Screech Cake and Saskatoon Berries on Canada Day once. You can't get more Canadian than that. East and West do meet in a rum-flavoured treat.
