So they tossed this guy in the bed of a truck and drove him to a cop's house? No phones (cell or otherwise) at his place?

I can imagine the cop's reaction. "WTF? Why did you bring me a half dead copper thief? Call 911 numbnuts."

He will most likely die as electricity leaves a burn trail from in site to exit site. Before I retired Iworked at a hospital as an x-ray tech and we had one einstein who had that problem...he drove into a downed power line and he was okay when he was in the car, he was okay when he got out of the car but when he went back in to turn the key to turn off the engine, he got a very positive reaction. I saw the hole in his big toe where the power exited and it was charcoal...literally. The electricity had instantly boiled the water in the protoplasm of the cells as well as turned the bubbles of water into charcoal. This happens all along the route that the electricity takes...the area in the hands, arms, chest, abdomen, legs, etc. all are now charcoal so if the electricity went thru his lungs, stomach, kidneys, liver, intestines, etc...that path is now charcoal and those organs will fail eventually. Then the hospital will have no choice but to discharge him.

This is too bad..he had so much potential too. He was apparently a leader in his field once.
But, you know those people who are always in a state of flux...

He reached the top of his arc...
