BroncoFan_17: anotar: While behind bars, Flynn earned a GED and an electrician's apprentice license, and married a former executive assistant to the Wiscasset, Maine, superintendent of schools. Incarcerated in Maine, he's eligible for parole on June 4, 2015, according to Jeffrey Lyons of the N.H. Department of Corrections.

What is the deal with getting married while in prison?

And I don't mean "why are there people crazy enough to marry a convict whom they have never met in person", I mean what benefits do prisoners receive by getting married? It is not infrequent, so if you are married does it figure in to the parole hearing or something?

I'm sure it would be a little helpful in a parole hearing, that you're married, and have some "support" when you get out. Also, the most obvious, conjugal visits.

I don't know if the marriage will be a helpful factor at the parole hearing since marriages that start while one spouse in jail, fail in the first year after that spouse is released. As for conjugal visits, that would depend on the state for some states do not allow any conjugals at all. The biggest factor for the couple is having someone who keeps in constant contact with while no one else cares that you are alive. When a woman lands a prison husband, she doesn't have to worry about him cheating (with other women) and a man that depends on her completely for no one from his past is still talking to him. After he gets out, he may no longer 'love' her since he would have more choices or returns to his violent nature. If you are willing to marry someone with a criminal past, do it after they leave jail and started building a stable life.

20+ years in prison apparently turns you into Caroline Rhea.

The difference between 20 and 40 isn't very kind, regardless.

Quantum Apostrophe: Hermione_Granger: It never ceases to amaze me what Farker men define as "hot".

Well we don't all have meetings, all 3.5 billion of us, every week so we can all agree on what's hot this week. Myself, I like a shapely leg, preferably with muscle tone, bulgy calves and quads yet with a slim knee, working its way up to a round, firm bubble butt and a tiny waist. Tits? Who cares? The big ones are like bags filled with molten lard.

Hell, there are even some transexuals who really, really defy all logic and are fun to look at. On the PC. The few times I've met transexuals, the vibe (and voice!) were all wrong for me.

I think Eddie Murphy would green light all that...
