EvilEgg: Seems like too much work for something they'll outgrow in a few years.
Uchiha_Cycliste: Why is it that many of the posters in this thread seem to think the kid having this pirate bedroom means that he is spoiled rotten? Is it just impossible to imagine that he's a good kid, or that the parents did their job as parents and raised a good kid? In my head I'm imagining a dad who cares about his kid and has fun with him/interacts with him and a kid who both deserved the room and appreciates it. Everybody is happy. Surely some families out there exist with this family dynamic.
cryinoutloud: EvilEgg: Seems like too much work for something they'll outgrow in a few years.Where will that kid be in a couple of years, when he's outgrown his room, but he doesn't dare say anything, because he knows that his parents spent thousands of dollars building his special place? But it's not right now--his friends laugh at him and they won't come over anymore. He wants to tell his parents that he just doesn't like his bedroom anymore, but he can't stand to destroy the hopeful looks on their faces every time they poke their head into his room, hoping that he's still playing pirate and sliding down ropes. His FATHER spends more time playing in the pirate ship then he does now, and he has to play along, hoping that one day his dad will look up and realize that he's 14 now! practically an adult! and what kind of teenager plays in a pirate ship? He couldn't even enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, they just depressed him and reminded him that after the movie, he'd have to go home and play on his pirate ship, just like his mother and father wanted him to.He can't wait until he's 18 and he can go to college and put posters of nekkid women on his walls instead.
sedgr: I'm far more impressed by the guy that spends time with his kid and builds a treehouse for them out of scrap, than the guy that pays to have an expensive pirate themed installation put in his kids bedroom.
Haliburton Cummings: awwww looookkk! . A precious snowflake ADD/HDD Entitlement command center!I bet those kids grow up to be arseholes...
This is a late parrot: I think this is a repeat.
