There is a really complicated issue with home video rights. Wiki has a list of possible complications of a home release: Link

...Well, FWIW the '66 movie is available on DVD and quite honestly, if you've got that you've got a pretty good distillation of the entire series.

/tho it would have been nice to get Julie Newmar as Catwoman for that

i used to get anything i couldn't find on eBay by placing a request in the 'Wanted' area and monitoring for quick reply before it got yanked. sellers in Australia seem to find/have anything you could ever want. one or more of them would contact you in your eBay message area. then you were on your own if you wanted to make purchases from a strangers site. i never had problems. don't expect Hollywood quality though, this is duping from broadcast.

IMO, it should have stayed as a Lincoln Futura.

If you've got the money, you can have one.

My boss has molds pulled off the original Futura form.

If you're serious, let's talk.

Heh

Ford was sending the car to be destroyed (the usual fate for concept cars past their prime) when Barris convinced to sell it to him for a dollar. Becoming the Batmobile saved the car.

Ford spent $250K in early 60s dollars to build the car. It's also supposed to be heavy as hell because of all the lead filler used on it (a common practice in auto prototypes at the time).

1. The Futura was built in 1955.

2. Ford sent it to be destroyed, they sure were taking their time with it, because it sat in a corner of the lot for over a decade before Barris came across it and purchased it.
