tkwasny: kmmontandon: You'd think Russians of all people would have a higher standard for what qualifies as a lot of snow.

Because that ... isn't.

In the whoosy parts of the US, a 4" snow means wall-to-wall 24/7 breaking news showing store shelves empty.

Hey I live in the Pacific NW and when we get an inch of snow everybody panics (Especially the local news media!) "We are on storm watch" From the beginning of fall until the end of spring, KIRO TV is on 'storm watch'. Idiots!

Where do you live that ten feet of snow is not "a lot of snow"?

*clicks profile*

Ahhhh, the frozen glaciers of California. Well, up here in the warm sands of Canada, we look at ten feet of snow as a good excuse to stay home and drink vodak... Takes all kinds, I suppose!

Is that a Lada?

Because it looks like a Lada.

I like to say, "Lada".

/ Lada

Looks like a 2107 to me.

But more importantly, that poor chap there must be Gennadiy Massethov, right?

I found the bottle stuck in the snow to be a humorous touch.

BabyDumplings: I live in North Carolina.  5 inches of snow = panic, massive school closings, grocery store madness, traffic torture, etc.  I would love to see them deal with something like this.

In DFW the winter before last, they cancelled school over high winds and freezing temperatures. That's it. It didn't snow, sleet, or rain. It was just cold and windy. It wasn't even particularly cold, either, only about 28F iirc before you factor in the wind chill.

White_Scarf_Syndrome: That looks like a lot more than 10 inches. I'm wondering if they already had a foot or two already down, which is nothing. Seen that in NJ and Montreal.

This is the thread where we get the "that's not snow, THIS is snow!" guys, right?

Or wait, did I read that wrong, and it was ten FEET?

10 inches in Moscow, which is a couple of the pics... 10 feet in "the polar city of Norilsk", which is most of the pics. You can tell which ones are of Moscow because they have things other than snow in them.
