It's Tokyo. You don't get a million hours for your lunch break. You do get, literally, a million other people on the same lunch break, though.

You have to stand in line for EVERYTHING at peak hours.

We have a problem like that in Chicago (probably less drastic than Tokyo).

So I go to lunch at 11:30AM or 1PM. Never at noon.

This is a tip that should be included in every travel guide to Tokyo. Tourists, unlike the poor saps that work for Japanese corporations, can actually choose when to eat.

I've found McDonald's in Japan to be significantly higher in quality than in North America. I don't know if the base materials are different, but the burgers/etc themselves are certainly put together better.

McDonald's are generally very clean.

Perhaps the logistics are too much, but I think if McDonalds served some select breakfast items during traditional lunch and dinner times, shareholders and fatties would be very very happy.

pancakes
sausage biscuits
etc

Their breakfast items are the only things on their menu that actually taste good, besides their fries. However, I've discovered that if I want to destroy my health, I prefer going to Speedway for their slightly less good breakfast sandwiches that are cheaper, and I don't have to wait behind someone who wants to look at the menu for a few minutes first.

My wife hates the fact that I can happily eat pasta, roasted chicken, or baked potatoes for breakfast very easily. Food is food.

I'm the same way. I never understood how people could get disgusted by the thought of eating non traditional breakfast foods for breakfast? Hell until recently when I started eating oatmeal every morning, about the only time I ever eat "breakfast food" was after a night of drinking.

You know that new quarter pounder they have with the bacon and the fancy bread and the yummy sauce? Slide the egg from a mcmuffin on top, and I'd be willing to risk a heart attack for that bad boy.

An egg is an excellent idea for a burger, it's actually not a new idea.

But it can't be that egg, if the yolk isn't runny, it's useless.

Somaticasual: That's actually a brilliant idea for the states, although cost-prohibitive for the vast majority of locations. But in denser urban areas, it'd be perfect since stoners and drunks alike enjoy breakfast food at all hours..

The $1 Sausage Muffin is awesome. If the muffin is toasted so it has a hint of black on the edges, it's a fantastic breakfast for the price. The muffin, sausage, and cheese for a buck makes me wonder why an egg more than doubles the price.

I've gotten to where I make my own at home to keep me out of the drive through. I think the sausage I buy is better for me so of course it's not as good, but it hits the spot. I'm not really saving any money though. When I stop at McDonalds, it's hardly ever out of my way so there's not a lot of gas costs.

Bacon Egg and Cheese biscuit meal aka "the number 3" is a way of life for me between 5-7am. Feel free to judge me, I simply don't care.

L.D. Ablo: This might be a good idea.  The Egg McMuffin is the only thing on the menu that is a real food product instead of a highly processed chemistry experiment.

Pretty sure their breakfast burritos are half or a third of the content of a mcmuffin tossed into a burrito - egg white, bargain basement cheese, and a bit of meat that your normal butcher would look aghast at.

Never underestimate a man's love for brinner

Diners that serve breakfast all day long have always been popular in the States, so why not at McDo's in Japan? Makes sense to me.

As I rarely get up before 10:30am, Jack In The Box more often gets my breakfast orders than McDonalds'.

I'm never up that early, so I started making McMuffins at home. Just crack an egg into an oversize muffin tray, pierce the yolk with a fork and bake along with sausage/bacon for 6-10 minutes, depending on how you like your egg. Top with cheese while everything is still hot. You can also make a bunch of these ahead of time, wrap individually with wax paper and freeze, then nuke each for 1.5-2.5 mins. Minimal cleanup, easy prep, cheap, and you know exactly what you're eating. I actually made one at 2 a.m. last night in a toaster oven. Good times.

It pIsses me off that I'm expected to eat different kinds of food at different times of day.

My moron girlfriend gives me crap about eating pizza or cake for breakfast, and bacon or cereal for dinner. Why?

I lived in Rome for four months, and the only place to get an American-style breakfast was the McDonalds by Termini. The food in Rome was universally amazing, but after a couple of months, we got weirdly hungy for pancakes, and there's really nowhere else in southern Europe to get them.

McD's does a pretty good breakfast, but Hardee's needs to go full 24hr breakfast. Their biscuits rock.

If Chik Fila served their chicken biscuits all the time, I'd wind up making Honey Booboo's mom look like Kate Moss ...

Oh, the number of fat-laden calories I have saved in my lifetime by missing the 10:30 a.m. cutoff for breakfast at McDonald's. I just can't eat before noon on the weekends (I stick to yogurt during the work week) - I have no appetite until I've downed my first pot of coffee. I've often wished I could get my hands on a Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, and more often been grateful that I couldn't.

That biscuit and the fish sandwich are the only things I eat during my quarterly visits to Mickey D's. The burgers make me queasy every single time. In fact, it took me precisely 10 minutes to cook my own burger last night, with good ground round from a reputable grocer. WTF does anyone eat that swill?

Support your local mom and pop restaurants. Better value for your money. Healthier, fresher food. Good for the economy. We had a leftover $11 Reuben from the best deli in town and I deconstructed the massive pile of corned beef and got four meals out of the leftovers. You can't do that with a Big Mac.

Sausage McGriddles are the debbil. Tasty tasty debbil.

I used to loved McDonalds Breakfast until about 5-6 years ago i started eating healthier. Since then I always feel sick if i eat anything there. When I learned an egg McMuffin has about 50 ingredients in it I just started making my own. Now I can't understand how people can regularly eat the things they serve.
