This poster says: Question:

If someone lives in severe poverty (or "isn't worth a pot to piss in" as the adage goes) and attempts to cross unlawfully into the US from Canada, what does the either the American or Canadian government do with them? (That is, assuming they didn't do anything illegal other than crossing) Slap them on the hand and turn them free? Prosecute them? Take their picture and put it on the wall like Disneyland? Either way, it seems a pointless lose/lose scenario, right?

I'm not sure about Canada, but for Cuba I thought the deal was they get to apply for asylum if they make it to US land.

Even from Cuba, they have to wade ashore, I think. If they get caught in the water, they get sent back. Did this guy actually splash through the water and hit the beach like he was storming the beaches of Normandy?

That unnamed Daily Fail Reporter doesn't know the difference between a canoe and a dory.

Again, for the Daily Fail:

Aww, this.

We were listening to CBC at work and the local news (Windsor) had a story about a 2 car accident and an attempted but failed burglary.

We all awwwed together, then got kinda depressed/quiet. Because even though lots of people (Canadian, Colbert) make fun of Windsor, that was the ONLY local crime/accident news they had to even report.

They even gave a description of the *attempted* burglars.

Oh, Canada.

Watch the Toronto local news. Just like NYC news. Crime. Shootings, etc.

Eh Toronto only had 2 major shootings this year, both gang related, and everyone FREAKED the fark out. As an American, I found it slightly odd, most shootings don't make it to the local news in the states.

Toronto PD doesn't agree: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/statistics/ytd_stats.php

Niagara-on-the falls?
NIAGARA ON THE FALLS?

It's NIAGARA ON THE LAKE, you Daily Fail dummies. Learn to read your maps.

It's also "St. Catharines", no possessive apostrophe, and those weren't canoes, and it's January, so clearly insane buddy is lucky the current didn't push him into the lake and the cold didn't kill him.
