Yep, from Half-Baked. He's an "enhancement smoker", one of the types that always says "Yea, you've done [insert activity here], but have you ever done [insert activity here] ON WEED?!"

Reading the article it doesn't sound like it's anything terribly different from what I went through when I was tested for visual hidden potentials for epilepsy, except it has trippy music added to the procedure. You see all sorts of odd visual designs during that medical test which is just a strobe light being shone into your closed eyes at different frequencies while electrodes record what your brain is doing.

I'd imagine that epileptics are discouraged from taking part in this.

"I could suddenly see bright colours and formless shapes whizzing past: Orange-tinged geometric designs, a pyramid, some microscopic organisms or particles that I couldn't quite make out, along with other structures and psychedelic palaces streaming past my peripheral vision."

When close to sleep or half waking up, I can do that without your fancy lights.

I say, GOOD DAY, SIR.

Ouch! Leave me out of it, if... Wait, she couldn't possible know what that feels like. Maybe the strobe lights cause word disfunction.

Huxley did it. Hell, those guys did everything before it was cool- LSD was involved with the discovery of DNAs helix structure in 1953.

That's exactly what I thought when I read the article. There's not much that special about using lights to induce things like that, except being able to sell it to idiots at a premium.

It worked for a while and I saw some nice geometric patterns, then the flashes got brighter and brighter until I couldn't see anything but the flashes.

phosphenes are not hallucinations.
Just close your eyes and rub them. Or go into an absolutely dark room (harder to find one than you might think) and wait about 10 minutes. You'll see all kinds of stuff what ain't really there.

/yes, I realize these are stimulated by light. same thing, which is to say "nothing".

FTFA: "One woman said she felt like her brain had been literally sliced open and exposed to the world. "

Okay, now, please elaborate. What does having your brain sliced open and exposed to t he world feel like since you have apparently had it done twice now?
