Just because its a low elevation peak in NH doesnt mean its safe. The mountain kills people in winter on a regular basis. They should have been a little more careful and not gone at all.

I guess combat veterans should never try anything hard or meaningful, lest you call them "stupid". But your foolish attempt to hold onto your argument is heroic.

PunGent: chairborne: Clash City Farker:

Are you saying it was wrong to invade them? Did you know that when you went or did you decide that later on?

I came to realize eventually like most reasonable people that the reasons we went to Iraq were faulty. That had nothing to do however with the good I saw in toppling a really vicious autocratic regime, I spoke to victims of torture at the hands of Uday, saw the pleasure palaces the Husseins built next to cities with no power or sewer infrastructure. I saw our military leaders ordered to go by our duly elected civilians politicians who worked to make lives better for Iraqis. Iraq is better off now than it was.

Actually, quite a lot of Iraqis disagree with your last statement. And that doesn't count the ones that got ethnically cleansed on our watch.

Chairborne had you outgunned and outclassed hours ago. War sucks. Hussein's (Saddam's, not Barrack's) barbarism sucks. And your late to the game pot shots and your understanding of normative ethics suck. Great job posting a link, too.

There's a time limit on correcting stupidity?

Normative ethics, huh? So, deliberate ethnic cleansing by Saddam is bad, but when they do it to each other under our noses, it's good?

Retard.

Good morning to you too, princess.

Wait, I thought you would've wanted us out of Iraq, and you didn't want us to flatten it. Done. We get it, you proclaim, "Inaction, at any cost!" Internally and externally, Iraq's security problems are up, and they now can fix them without our interference. Nobody disagreed with you that the situation was unfortunate. We weren't rebuilt overnight after our internal conflicts either. But by all means, keep running around doing the awesome "I told you so" dance and see all the praise you get for being so perceptive. Maybe you'll get hired by a think tank.

So - go ahead and dig out your corollary now- want to go insult some crippled veterans? Because that's what you and your friends were here for in the first place. Sad little eunuch.

I never said either of those things, moron. I object to unnecessary, poorly managed wars...it's a wasteful practice even when done right.

Go in hard, with a plan, or stay home.

Half-assed nation building is for the birds.

Go read Fiasco...maybe you'll learn something.

You're still here?

We did go in hard with a plan, so sorry you didn't like it. However, for all the Murphy's Law encountered and heavy imbalance of constant negative reporting by a media with no credibility left, our civil affairs operations were second to none. The Phase V transition/enabling of civil authorities could not have done better by another country. But I guess Saddam's style was by and large your preference.

I haven't read Fiasco but I see it's supposed to be a heavy critique on Bremer. Wow! How noble, did the author have better ideas? How much military experience does he have, oh, he was a Pentagon correspondent and lectures the military? Brilliant!

Right, so - inaction. Indecisiveness. Isolationism. A lack of leadership. Cowardice. Insulting veterans. Armchair quarterbacking - the things you advocate. Your horn-rimmed glasses, Che shirt and beard are showing.

Your failure to acknowledge any credit to your country's efforts or any possible positive outcomes is beyond sad. You: Veteran fought in illegitimate war = Saddam4ever! USA sucks! You advocate for Saddam, that's clear. Well f*(k you. This was about a vet who lost his leg trying to do something positive for himself. You're in the same class of cretins as Sean Penn. Poor vain fool.
