So, after "months of research" they conclude that "the phenomenon [i.e., sleeplessness] could leave astronauts less alert and hamper performance." Your tax dollars at work.

Scientists have found that, in such an environment without regular sunrises and sunsets, people will stay awake approximately one hour longer and wake up one hour later than they normally would (i.e., twenty six hour days). The circadian rhythms are just set that way, so that is why we always hear about the astronaunts waking up to music courtesy of NASA, instead of them awaking on their own.

A weekend clubbing has similar effects.
Strobe lights are far more disorienting than irregular sunrises/sets.
