Dear Subway, if a foot long isn't a unit of measure... please take my payment of $4.50 as 'close enough'

Jackson Herring: vudutek: you're taking this far too seriously

hah it is pretty amazing that you have the lack of self-awareness to actually type that sentence

i'm quite aware of how unimportant .5" of a sandwich is. unfortunately, that's the only point you seem to consider important. the important discussion should be regarding false advertising and the associated corporate b.s.

now, go make me a sammich.

Dear troll,

Some of us get two meals out of a 'footlong', and would really prefer that it actually be a foot long, as advertised.

Sincerely,

Non-fatty

I am sure you are going to miss that extra quarter inch in each of your two meals

Interestingly, that quote does not appear anywhere in the article. I suggest you start by stabbing subby for making you post something so silly.

Like the actual quote's any better. This is how I picture the conversation going:

"Here, have our Five-Dollar Footlong!"
"Nice...wait. This isn't a footlong."
*nervous giggle* "Um...well, not all of them are."
"Then why call it a footlong?"
"Well, it's not a unit of measurement."
"...You...you morons."

Some company (Heinz?) got sued because the product would settle in the bottle resulting in less than advertised. Now they slightly overfill at the factory.

This IS a big deal. Why don't they short you a half ounce of gas at the pumps? BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL!

I farking hate Subway. The employees there do not have the ability to follow directions. My experience, every time I had to eat there was like this:

Me: Salami sandwitch please
Employee: Sure, would you like mustard?
Me: Sure, everything but tomatoes please.
Employee: Mayo?
Me: uh... yeah, everything but tomatoes.
Employee: Lettuce?
Me: ........ 8-|
Employee: Sir, would you like lettuce?
Me: I'm sorry... I thought I was talking but you couldn't hear me. Sure, Everything execpt tomatoes.
Employee: Would you like tomatoes?

It's amazing any of these companies exist after the flood of successful lawsuits about their food not looking anything like it does in their advertisements.

Oh wait, that never happened.

yeah, false advertising, who cares, right?

do you cry irl when you order a six inch and the bread isn't cut in the exact centroid of the loaf

c'mon, try not to be too much of an ass here. obviously, where the farking sandwich is cut is irrelevant to the actual size. if it's an ACTUAL foot, any cut will yield two pieces that total a foot.

btw: you're taking this far too seriously. are you perhaps a 'sandwich artist' irl?
