I pity the sound effects guy who is given the direction to create some "rhythmic slapping sounds."

Dammit, I actually liked some of his work, and now he's gone and done something boycott-worthy.

Used to like Pacino.
Before he stooped to playing a person of Italian descent who is involve in something more heinous than the Mob.

I'd be curious how principled you could be when staring at a dumptruck full of money that would ensure you, your children, and children's children never had to work a day in their lives.

/not that he needs it, but still

This could actually be pretty alright (as a performance, the movie itself will be horribly uncomfortable). I was totally out on latter-day Pacino until I watched "You Don't Know Jack," the 2009 Jack Kevorkian bio-pic, last week. In most second-half Pacino movies, you're very aware at all times that you're watching Al Pacino act, but he disappeared into Kevorkian. It was everything I'd hoped aging Pacino would be but never had seen from him.

He was great in the Kevorkian movie.

Wasn't it enough to listen to the story as it unfolded? That pretty much made even the most hardened Farker a little uncomfortable. Some sick shiat.
Now we're giving Sandusky and Paterno screen time?
Really?
REALLY?!

I get the feeling that he's taking roles like this (or Phil Spector) for the challenge of playing the character, rather than for the money.

That's why I act.
I'm an atheist who played a priest and researched my character enough to fool a bishop who thought I was in seminary.

why would you boycott an actor for playing a role?

you going to boycott the guy that played hitler in downfall?

Ask me why I would boycott a movie about covering up child rape.
Rape is so evil I said it twice.

Oh ho ho, how unoriginally droll. Despite the title of TFA, the news is that de Palma is directing. We've known about Pacino being in it since September, which was the last time the 'little friend' joke was somewhat amusing.

I agree, although it is sad that the movie will be the only way many people learn about the circumstances of this case.

Just last night at the gym I saw a guy with a Penn State shirt on, and I thought to myself "there's a guy who didn't read either grand jury report."

I think jerry van dyke would make a good sandusky. Maybe the dude from Fargo might too.

Why are they, no, HOW are they making a movie about this? Wait, Joe Paterno. I thought it was Sandusky at first, and I'm not deleting what I've typed. I wouldn't make a movie about some bastard that cared more about football than saving innocent children from having their lives ruined. It's Hollywood so I'm not surprised.

2013-01-18 07:35:56 PM
Wait. The Paterno Movie is being directed by De Palma, and has Pacino playing Paterno.

And y'all think this movie is gonna portray Penn State and Paterno in a POSITIVE light?
