There's no doubt in my mind that Bayern have the ability to win the first couple of matches with no problem again. Schalke would have been their first real problem in the 4th match, but they have started their late season destruction pretty early this season. So it wouldn't even be until the 9th (26th) match against Leverkusen that they'll have to face anyone difficult. They need to take advantage of this again. It was Leverkusen who finally stopped Bayern's winning streak at 8, I'd like to see Bayern coming out strong this time around too, but I suppose there's no reason in worrying about that match just yet.

I doubt Frankfurt will be as strong in the second half, but it would be great if they would play internationally next season.

Abramovich must be dying inside; he thought he would have Guardiola at Chelsea next season. Now that he's at Bayern, he might have to swallow his ego and rehire Jose.

As an Arsenal fan, this pleases me greatly.

I would just like to take the time to relate a story about Bayern...

My mom was in Munich a few years ago and, before she went to Europe, I asked her to get me a Bayern jersey. They wear red and black (uga colors) and I always seem to end up watching their matches when I see them on TV. I seem to like the German national team when I watch the World Cup, as well.

So, she comes back to the states and, in dramatic fashion, pulls out a beautiful blue and white football jersey. Dumbfounded, I ask what the f*ck is that.

Thanks for buying me a TSV 1860 Munchen jersey. I told her that I had, essentially, asked her for a Yankees jersey and she showed up with a Mets jersey.

Her explanation was that Bayern was playing Stuttgart that day, so the team shop was packed and she just went in to a different shop cause that one was empty. No wonder it was empty, the team has been relegated for like 15 of the last 20 years.

I practically had the reverse of that happen when my wife went to Munich. I wanted a TSV scarf and she brought back a Bayern stuffed bear. Eh, I guess it's the thought that counts :)

Bundesliga! I love how virtually any word spoken in German seems as if the next move is to headbutt you, plunder your city & take your women.

This had me cracking up because I almost had the same thing happen to me back when Bayern had the red and white striped jersey except replace TSV with AC Milan. My mom told the guy in the Adidas store it was a red striped jersey. I was on the other side of the store and ran over to stop her before she got to the register and just went home bought mine from the online team store.

Best I've been able to buy here in the states is a German jersey from the last world  cup. I got to wear it once. It was the comfiest thing I've ever worn. I couldn't find it for a month after that. Finally found it balled up in the garage. A roommate had used it as an oil rag "It looked old, dude"

The Bayern jerseys/kits are just way too expensive to ship here.

Score update:

Schalke winning 4-3 with a few minutes left to go.

Have you tried a website like worldsoccershop.com? It's where I got my Bayern jersey for this season. It's also where I got my Germany kit for the Euro's. I pretty much only buy jerseys for any sport online these days.

OK, so lots of BuLi fans were not on the Pep to Bayern thread, so I'll make my statement here as well.

I think it's a great fit and I think Pep made the best possible choice for him outside of returning to Barcelona. Bayern play a passing game that while not tiki-taka still puts emphasis on passing and possession. He'll also have a great youth academy to draw on and will get to worth with Matthias Sammer on the transfer market, not clowns like Joan Laporta.

Also, think about the Pep vs. Klopp games. Enticing.

Ah sweet! Now if I could only find a place that sold the caps in America too. The official store has some pretty sweet ones, but I can only find the red one online elsewhere (and already got that). Always wanted one of the black ones.

Final score Schalke 5 Hannover 4. Both teams scored in the last 3 minutes (Schalke extended their lead first, so it's not as exciting as it sounds.) A neccessary win for Schalke, but it should not have been this tough for them.

Yeah, here in the states it's obviously very Premier League and MLS heavy in terms of what you can find in stores. I'm toying with the idea of buying a Reus Borussia Dortmund jersey (I have a similar sounding last name and they're the team I tend to follow the closest in the Bundesliga) and I know for a fact I'll have to get it online.

Friendly plug, but the folks at The Anfield Shop if anyone is a 'pool fan are awesome. The one time I ordered something from there that they ran out of stock on, they bent over backwards through email exchange with me to give me the timeframe on when they could get re-stocked and everything, and gave me an incredible discount code for my next order (which, being the f*cking dumbass I am, I totally forgotten about by the time I made my next order. They're nice enough I'm sure I can just use it later).

If you're buying kit to support your team, you should buy it at the official team store. Otherwise the knock offs are plenty good enough these days.

I was out late last night. Am not one to party like that, but it was worth it. Just woke up though and missed a good portion of the games. Glad to see Bayern ahead, but not by much :S

And a header off a corner kick makes it 2-0. Makes me feel a bit better.

The caps, you're pretty much on your own there haha. I have no idea where to get one. I don't wear hats very often, but I did find a nice Bayern beanie for the recent cold weather on amazon. It's just black with the crest on it though, nothing fancy.

The official store is very expensive and I think they don't have a "U.S." thing where they ship from inside the U.S. and give you the price in dollars. That's the downside to watching a less popular league.

The replicas are fantastic, I love mine. It feels almost just like the one I bought at the Sounders Proshop down here. I buy all my jerseys online.

Overall a good game. Mandukic, Martinez, Schweinsteiger, Dante, and Ribery were all good. Lahm, Kroos, and Mueller were no very good. Must be rust from the break. I missed most of the game. 6:30am games are cruel.

Three points is three points though.

Yeah they all looked a bit rusty, but hopefully it's shaken loose quickly. Certainly won't complain though, 12th clean sheet of the season!
