God, getting 2 characters to 90 was a trial for me. I've got 2 others between 85 and 90, but I'll never level up another again. Just too far to go.

I really enjoyed the 85-to-90 experience, but the game fell flat once I dinged 90. Dailies, raid finder, and heroics just didn't do it for me.

shiat, I'm 50 and solo'd kara last night. So what if my lock's 90, it's still a very impressive achievement! So what if the mobs don't see me til they run into me, and I 1 shot everything...it's still very tricky not getting lost!

heheh

actually been doing it once a week since forever trying to get the mount to drop from Attumen, and the tentacle staff to drop from Illhoof for transmog. shiatty luck, I have it.

Just found out last night BT was soloable

It's not dificult to level up. Anyone can do it. It's just unbelievably boring and can take a while....particularly after you've alreadyn done it once.

I always said by the time i get old (if i make it,) life is going to be great.

ive already spent too much time on MMORPGs, if im 70+ then what the hell.. nothing else to do. no guilt.

plus, imagine what gaming is going to be like in another 30-40 years.

Experts say that a result like that is not easily achieved and one needs to dedicate a considerable amount of one's spare time, in order to reach that many high level characters.

Really? Wow, I'm not retired, I work 9-5 M-F and play on the evenings when I'm not tied up by my GF (grins)... and I got currently 5 level 90s, 1 level 89 that I just haven't had the chance to knock over to 90 this week, and 5 other toons on same server 85 (had 10 at cap till MOP and used the extra 11th slot they just gave us to do a Monk to one of them level 90's)...

*yawn* It's not hard, it's quite easily achieved, you're "experts" suck, hire new experts...

Not difficult at all if you have lots of time on your hands.

This, I much preferred it in Vanilla, when it had distinct tiers of achievement, even though I would never, ever have been top-tier (family, so no time for raiding). I was perfectly fine with that - I could do 5 man and some 10-man content, go on loooong quests for the world purples, etc. TBC kept that to some extent, but since then it's gotten progressively easier to the point where it's laughably simple now and there's really nothing beyond time served. It's why I stopped playing.

just got banned my 3rd time for selling gold.... that'll do for me. :)

its a good game, and MOP was really the best blizz could do with their current game engine and available technology. its pretty obvious that they are mostly invested in TItan now.

I haven't really been 'into it' other than for some part time cash playing the AH since TBC though.

I've played many an MMORPG (Never WoW for some reason) and regularly played with many people over 50 and quite a few over 60.

I had one online friend who regularly punished her kids by making them "grind" her crafts.

Four bucks says you spend more time on the game than you realize. It's like anything. You don't realize how deep you're in until you start clocking yourself. It's alright. It's your life, and it's better than getting drunk, getting into a car and killing an innocent family. It's still not something one does casually like a Zynga game... (though, just like Zynga games, they require lots of social networking to get high).

My dad is 75 going on 76 in April.

Last seen playing Rappelz(again) after mastering Guild Wars 2 and getting bored with it.

People that old can easily find themselves with not much else they can do. My dad worked construction and shiat jobs all of his life and his body has paid the price. Still pretty damn sharp mentally though.

This is not really news. It's cute, but not news. I know a goodly number of players are older and if you're retired, you have time to indulge in it.

Meh, when I'm not at my job or out doing other stuff, i'm relaxing and killing shiat or running raids or socializing.

It's nice cheap entertainment, other people sit around watching TV all night, I do WoW with friends and GF and such. *shrugs*

I guess it's finally ran its course for me.

This. I'm not saying I'll never go back, but after hitting 90 twice, I was bored to death. It was time to take a break, and Netflix, a weekly D&D session with friends, and SWTOR are filling the spare time instead.

I just came back after a break from right after Cata's release. I'm finding it hard to care about the game. I'll probably play out this game card, and then let it go.

I used to be a crazy raider, 20+ hours a week just in raids. That ended when I started getting phone calls on off nights to see if I could tank something.

You haven't lived until you were getting paged at 2am back in the EQ days because King Tormax had spawned and the guild was getting together. Then you had to call/page 3 users yourself, just like eveyrone else that got the first round of notices.

Pretty much. The day I realized I could solo AQ40 as a poorly geared (heroic 5-mans and a couple odds and ends from Raid Finder & Sha of Anger) boomkin, it was pretty much over for me.

The oldest person I've met in an MMO was 78 (I think, about there) in UO over a decade ago. I've always thought the medium to be pretty perfect for older people, since having good social time and having something to do and what not can be hard for them, even if they can't exactly be all that physically active.

I've just got my 11th class to 90 after grinding all variations of all 11 profession to 600 a week ago so I'm getting a real kick out of this thread. Only one that was even remotely difficult was my Rogue. Should have stuck to Combat instead of Assassin I guess. That noted I woke up this morning with a day off and didn't feel like playing for the first time since the game dropped. Maybe the fever has broken.

Sure, Blizzard has made it a little faster for vets to level alts with heirloom Darkmoon Fair gear and guild reward cloaks and pants that grant additional experience - and even more so if you are a monk with the daily quest xp buff. Oh and as someone mentioned, you get xp for gathering professions now too.

But what I hate about leveling is how uneven it is with the scaling. You blast through lower levels very quickly and then things just kind of come to this screeching halt and it becomes slow and arduous. I've loved the Pandaria expansion, but have several 85s that probably won't move to 90 because of it takes as much time to get from 1 to 80 as it does to go from 80 to 90.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

80-85 is also too fast now.. oops, I'm 85 now, and you want me to head to Pandaria with my greens from Deepholm? Well, I think this hunter can do it, perhaps not other classes..

But then I've been quietly grumbling about leveling too fast for a while, which makes it that much harder to work on crafting skills.

Not really that hard to do. They have vendors in the game now if you are woefully undergeared you can buy some stuff to get you on par to do the quests. it just takes time and if you are retired that is what you have.
