I know you're joking, but he's closer to Brad Johnson- better than people give him credit for, but the bad games REALLY stand out. Dilfer was just terrible all-around.

Jacoby Jones. It's ALWAYS the journeyman veteran. Houshmanzadeh in 2009, Evans in 2010, now Jones in 2011. He tried last week - dropping a pass that hit him in the hands in the series before 'the Catch'.

I was thinking that. The drop on 4th down could've been his goat moment. Remember, he fumbled a crucial punt (?) vs the Ravens the previous year in the playoffs when he was with Houston. I'd been waiting ALL SEASON for the moment when Jones either choked or redeemed himself. He did both.

Anyone but the Pats. I'd like to the the NFCW get another title, esp. considering that if that happens, my Rams will have not lost to the eventual SB champions.

Wanted the Chickens/9ers NFC Champ so I could say "The two teams playing in this game played 4 total against the Rams, and won ONCE."

Fumbled *2* punts in the game against BAL 2 years ago.

I've been waiting too.

The Patriots never seem to get their comeuppance. Except in Super Bowls against the Giants, of course.

Hey whoever. Just as long as we get another year to make fun of Flacco and ignore the fact he's won 5 road games in the playoffs to continue the "he isn't elite!" meme.

Two weeks of the "Ray Lewis Farewell Tour" or "The Tom Brady Schlong Slurping Tour". Tough call, I guess go Ravens...

I'm a Ravens fan, but since the beginning of the playoffs my playoff hopes were 1) Baltimore, 2) anyone but Brady.

Johnson's arm strength was a variable. When it was better, he was awesome, but late in long games he would tire, and his accuracy would fade with his arm strength. By the end of his career, it was terrible all the time. Same thing happened to Jim Harbuagh (late in his career), and a lot of other 'superior QB brain, not tremendous athelete' QBs.

Want to know why the Ravens will lose - it is because they have blown every great story line in this years playoffs.

Round 1 - Lose and it is Manning vs his old team
Round 2 - lose an it is Manning vs Brady
Round 3 - win and Ray Ray makes the Super Bowl on way out and a great shot at the HarBowl

No way they win because they hate the networks obviously

They'll only win if the Falcons win the NFC.

FTA: Having a 70-yard prayer of a pass answered at the last minute of regulation to leave Peyton Manning's Broncos shell-shocked was enough to land Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week.

More useless stats -

Joe Flacco has more playoff wins than the entire NFC Championship QB roster combined. Including Alex Smith.

Flacco now has more playoff wins than Johnny Unitas. In fact only 18 QBs ever have more playoff wins than Joe.

Tom Brady has more playoff wins than all other QBs remaining in the playoffs combined. He also has more playoff wins than any QB ever. He will tie Favre for most post-season appearances as a starter on Sunday.

I heard teams lose them, too. But yet we don't talk about whether Lee Evans is elite or Billy Cundiff's level of elite. Funny that, almost like the QB gets the all blame if they lose or all the credit if they win, unfairly.

Thanks for your comment, uninformed reader.

The other question - which Patriot does Pollard injure this game?

Brady got hit for a season ender. Welker had a serious injury. Gronk got whacked last year. Who's next?

I had to read it twice as well...

Basically, poster is saying he wanted NFC Championship game to be 49ers vs Seahawks because the Rams went 3-1 against those 2 teams during the regular season...

Thats like saying "i want Jennifer Love Hewitt to win Miss America because I asked her to the prom once and she said maybe"

I think he was referring to the Bolshevik Revolution and praising Leon Trotsky's military acumen. Not sure what that has to do with a thread about Joe Flacco, but whatevs.

Joe Flacco has more playoff wins in his first 5 years in the league than anyone not named Joe Montana.

// he's also the only one to win a playoff game in each of his first 5 years
// he's also the only one who has had Ray Rice as an RB

When either of those two have 4 rings and 3 SB MVP's, then maybe you can start comparing them to the best QB of all time.
