QuantuMechanic: synthetic mescaline is synthetic, mescaline

Not really. They're both phenethylamines, but the two are very different. I've never tried either, so I can't speak from experience, but the dosages are about an order of magnitude apart, for one thing.

Endive Wombat: I have never heard of this drug before.  Someone care to inform the class?

2C-B is in the 2C family of psychedelic phenethylamines. It is milder than L or boomers but more psychoactive than Molly, with a much easier come down. It also is less introspective, which alows for the user to be quite comfortable in social settings.

chaosangel: LDM90: Am I the only one who heard "Just stay away from drugs, you're better off" as a kid?

We all heard it. But many of us are destined to rebel. Long before Andrew Weil became the new age health guru, he authored a book based on the hypothesis that the drive to alter one's consciouness was as basic an instict as survival. (Cannot...remember....the...title....).

As I came of age in the late 70's, I more than dabbled in hallucinogins. Have no regrets, never had a bad trip & still think that the perspectives I gained were well worth it.

If you chose the drug free road, good for you. But, I think we should all be free to experiment (& let Darwin sort out the dumbasses).

Drugs were safer and much simpler in the 70's; also, there weren't as many stds.

Yeah the minute chance of "bad trips" doesn't seem worth it

Then again I don't drink either

the801: that doesn't sound like the 2cb I've Known And Loved. does anyone even mass-manufacture the shulgin drugs anymore? or are Bees back and no one told me?

it's hard enough to get Real mdma; i really doubt that was 2cb.

THIS. Maybe MDA, which I've had a rather nasty experience with. Unless there's been a full spec-analasys on what she got, it's just the pushers word.

Last thing that gave me 10x strength was a Mescaline analogue. Can't remember which one. It was also the only hallucinogen that really made me be trippinballs.jpg for real. Like proper seeing things not there, conversations with dead friends, being confused as to how my girlfriend was going to get the piano up to our 6th floor apartment (she was at work, there was no piano)

It's also dosage dependent in the milligram range. For first-time users, the difference between 12 mgs and 16 or 18 mgs is really noticeable - 12 being an average trip, 18 mgs where the visuals get stronger and effects last longer (up to 6 hours.) 30-40 mgs would most likely put you in a bad place if you aren't cautious.

That being said, in Europe it's not difficult to still get 2C-B in a pressed pill format... I have a handful of 16 mg tablets I acquired before the holidays that I'm saving for a rainy day. I can see her thinking they were beans, taking 2 and then her tripping to a place she wasn't expecting.

Given no context for this I am forced to believe he was quoting Tennyson. In this case he should be glad her heart was so pure.

I've taken 2CB several times, once taking two blotter sheets. It acts like acid without the unpredictable peaks. You can get confused easily though. Like going to the bathroom to pee and realizing you forgot your mixed drink, then getting your beverage, and upon returning to the toilet, completely forgetting what you were doing haha

Bronzed War God: PC LOAD LETTER: Every time I see articles on how bad a drug is, I keep wondering who it is they are trying to scare. There is certainly a segment of the population who would now avoid it knowing the effects, who may have taken it. I wonder how large that segment is compared to the segment who would never take it even if they didn't know what it was, or those who view this type of article as adverts on what drugs they should take.

It might be different depending on the drug. Synthetic drugs? Might scare people away at net.

The media rage of salvia of late? Probably caused a bunch of kids to try it... hallucinogens that last only 10-15 minutes and are "natural?" I mean, that was certainly an advertisement by the media.

"the media rage over salvia of late"

i haven't heard anybody talk about salvia for years. Tried it in 2004, it was meh...

A friend of a friend of my brothers thought it would be funny to watch me trip. He slipped something into my drink and I pretty much freaked out when it hit because I was not ready. My brother and his friends liked me sober to keep an ey on them when they were farked up to keep em out of trouble. They pretty much kicked the guys ass and had to stay up all night with me to keep me calm. Jesus it was hell. I can never do another hallucinogen, that was the only time.

2C-B overrated, as are phenethylamines in general, including E.

Had she chosen more wisely and gone with a quality tryptamine...say, 4-HO-MiPT...well she might have had the most amazing night of her life.

The only purpose would be to reinforce the fear in those already scared. While I don't do drugs it is mainly because I don't even want a misdemeanor drug offense on my record. When it's legal or if I felt safe enough, I do look forward to trying thc suckers or pot via vaporizer. I would also consider mushrooms and ecstasy. There are lots of drugs I wouldn't take though.

I'm with the others that haven't heard of this drug, but I'm not going to take a journalists assessment.
