Zizzowop: syzygy whizz: Zizzowop: So I told you all we recently got a new all black kitten, named him Winston. Well, Winston needed another kitten friend since the other older cats in the family were just not thrilled to have this little guy pouncing on them, so, we got another, all black kitten, around the same age. He's awesome, named him Marvin, now it's hard to tell them apart:

Give them time to grow a bit and you will probably find that aside from coat color they don't really look THAT much alike.
I've got 3 black cats...no trouble telling them apart (size, shape, gait, body language, coat texture, voice, etc).

*dances happy when black kitties are adopted*

Yeah, I can tell that Marvin has a slightly longer tail and a bit of a brownish hue to his coat, where Winston has a tiny little white patch on his neck. Marvin is so awesome, crawls over you, purring, and that was after having him home for only 24 hours. I can't believe he was at the shelter for over a month. No one would adopt him because he was black, well, that's probably why and given how sweet he his, I find that amazing. Glad we got him home : )

OlDood: We just lost our Mike D. Cat (has his own FBook page still up for a few more days). He was 20 pounds when we rescued him at about a year old back in 1999 while we were still living in Vegas. He somehow made it to 34.9 pounds when he was 10. We honestly didn't kind of notice. I mean we saw he was fat but he was very large for a cat in the 1st place. We completely killed the dry food and put him on strictly wet food and he was a svelte 27 pounds when he crossed the Bridge. Fluid around his lungs continued to build over the last year or so and no meds were helping. His breathing was so shallow and labored that we knew it was his time.
Wish I knew how to put in a photo. He was a monster but the best cat ever!

Ivan is very pretty!  Our white cat is Bob - she came with the house, and it was a year before she let us get close enough to figure out her sex.  She looked like a Bob, so the name stuck.

Confuses the hell out of the vet.
