"Sadly, a lesson about why it's wrong to equivocate about a woman being raped or why it's not a great idea to make all your House committee chairs white men is exactly what the GOP needs."

No... I'd rather they NOT have lessons, that's like teaching them how to lie about their true beliefs. I'd rather have it all in the open.

It's also the same plantation where Barack Obama prepped for his debate against Mitt Romney. Your argument is invalid.

I don't give a shiat about the location, I just think it's funny they need to have a meeting about how to communicate with women and minorities. It's an admission that they realize they're the party of white men.

I've been to colonial Williamsburg, they do have slave re-enactors there, but they don't beat them or rape them or anything. Mostly the slaves do laundry and sing songs and stuff. House negroes, mostly women.

Besides partaking in discussions about the debt ceiling and gun restrictions, GOP congressmen and women will also be getting schooled in the fine art of how to have "successful communication with minorities and women."

Just start with "hello". Its not that hard.

Lee Atwater would be confused by this. He wants to them to learn to be more abstract:

You start out in 1954 by saying, "N***, n***, n***." By 1968 you can't say "n***"-that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states' rights, and all that stuff, and you're getting so abstract. Now, you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.... "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "N***, n***."

The whole interview is fascinating. Link

Here's a better idea. Stop acting like only black people use social programs. In fact, stop acting like they use the majority of the funds associated with social programs.

The sad thing is that these fools actually believe that the poor want to be tormented, that minorities want to be second class citizens, and that women want to be raped.

They don't think they failed because of these vile views. They think they failed because they weren't able to convince enough poor people, minorities, and women that being tormented, starved, and raped is GOOD for them.

Please tell us you're really not that too dense to comprehend the difference between prepping for a presidential debate, and learning how to talk to people that are darker than yourself.

No, no, no! We've been through this! First, no hitting! You must not strike the black person! Second, you do not criticize his method of placing your glass on the table by denigrating his entire family history back to the sixteenth century. What do you do? Rule one: No hitting! No exceptions! Say it out loud with me, people! Rule two: Focus on the behavior, not the person. So: "Excuse me, but your thumb touched the rim of my glass. You are fired. Tell your coworker to summon security. You will never work in this town again. You will in fact be arrested on vagrancy charges the second you step out of the building."

Is that really so hard?

pretty much exactly why it is a more important topic when dealing with the "black community" en masse.

Yeah, this.  Lots of places were former this and that's.  The greater issue at hand is the fact that they would have the need for such a workshop in the first place.

Talking to black people, to me, is identical to talking to white people.  I do it every day.  Hi (person's first name), you about sick of this cold weather yet?  If they think that talking to blacks or women is difficult, that speaks volumes to the way they grew up most likely.  Gated communities or other such "not at all brown" places.

Then women and latinos, it must really suck to be unable to communicate with more than half of the people in this country.  And they wonder why they can't carry those demographics?
