maybe the Giants can draft something that resembles competent pass coverage.

Speaking of which, Luis Suarez has admitted to driving against Stoke and Rodgers is rightly pissed. I wouldn't be shocked to see Suarez left out of their match this weekend.

Yeah, he might as well have said, "Referees, pay attention. Next time I go to ground in the penalty area, don't call a penalty because I'm probably faking it. In fact, even if I get karate-chopped in the face or spiked in the kneecap, don't give me the benefit of the doubt."

These guys are only in the MLS draft because they weren't good enough to sign with a European club at 15 years old like you're supposed to. Until the MLS treats itself like the major clubs of Europe and South America then players will not sign here.

I'd say any one who goes in the top 10 is probably a decent player. There's still some quality in NCAA soccer and I actually think it's been slowly improving.

But, yeah, below pick 12 or so it's really just a crap shoot.

Still, guys like Dempsey and Bocanegra were MLS draft products...

Had me, Subby. Damn you.

I'm sure once MLS gets big enough in the US that they can throw huge money around, the players will come. Didn't some Euro great go to bumfark nowhere, Russia because the owner offered him like $50 mil a year?

Yea, like Belickick would ever shovel out big money for any player except Brady. He would rather trade away a high pick for lower picks where the players sign for less money. If Belichick's mother was in a nursing home and her care became too costly, he would trade her for a mother who be cheaper to care for.

8? Try 6. We have to do the Generation Adidas thing just so we have some hope of not having to do a total overhaul of the American educational system for the sake of sports. They're worlds further along in development than America even WANTS to go.

If Rodgers was to retroactively leave Suarez out for all the dives and cheats he's committed, he wouldn't see the pitch until 2015.
