Anyone who likes very old town squares, chocolate, inexpensive good beer and hot women should visit Estonia.

Oh, Paul Krugman. You truly are the Tara Reid of economics -- so much fresh promise in the 1990s, such a broken-down shameful mess in 2012.

Krugman? Spare me. No economist will equal Milton Friedman as a baritone.

As Fark's resident Estonian, I will say neener, and I know the guy who is writing the lyrics (he was over at my house a couple weeks ago). It should be quite a show.

I've come to believe peoples' ethnicities dictate their approach to problems in life.

More materialistic ethnicities like Krugman's see the ultimate goal in life as getting rich. They presuppose every one else will want to accumulate more and more meaningless material goods to achieve well being. High consumption with low regard for the strain on the natural world for these cosmopolitanites. If attaining wealth is your people's highest calling one might engage in financial shell games to achieve it for the society. A spend today, think not of tomorrow approach.

People more in touch with the the soil and less attracted to shiny things, tend to sacrifice today for stability tomorrow.

One size does not fit all.
