That's some nice garbage youse got there. Would be an awful shame if it sat there rotting in front of your nice business for the next few weeks.

That's weird, my ex works for the Justice Department environmental section and they just prosecuted a demolition company that was mob connected. Apparently they dumped a whole bunch of asbestos contaminated material in a protected wetland. The mob actually showed up for the trial.

Well, in this economy, is it all that surprising that the Mob would focus on their tried-&-true "legitimate" businesses, to hide their illegal operations behind?

Don't they even have decent nicknames any more?

Is it coincidence that the banner ad running at the top of the comments page (mobile) is for a dumpster rental company? I don't think so.

I'll not hold my breath waiting for some Italian-American Anti-Defamation group to decry their activities.

There's the long-term costs, such as waste disposal.

I don't know if you're familiar with who runs that business...but I assure you it's not the boy scouts.

Whenever we needed money, we'd rob the airport. To us, it was better than Citibank.

Is there any way to find out which companies were involved? I want to know if it includes my town.

Only if some rat turns State's Evidence. Then you'll see some anti-defamation action back of the f**kin' head, knowwhadimsayin'?

Pretty much every waste company in the tri-state area is a legitimate buisiness. If they're finally being prosecuted, that only means the bribes haven't been flowing like they used to.

No mention of anyone elses name. Also, if you go to the NJ.com website you have to dig deep to find this article. It should have exploded with comments, but at last check it had only 11 comments since yesterday afternoon. Oh well, just another day in NJ.

They should've called their company a bank.

Anybody have a PACER account? It's $0.10 a page or $3.00 a document, whichever is lower, but they waive the fees if you don't pull more than $15 in fees per quarter. You could look up the indictment with the name they give in there, the jurisdiction looks like Southern District New York.

"...authorities allege that threats and extortion were levied by members and associates of three New York-area mob families: the Genoveses, Gambinos and Lucheses."

That's known as "softening the market."

Aren't 'they' a little late to the party? I 'thought' the mob has had control of the 'refuse' business since the fifties (maybe even the forties)?

I understand these people know how to dispose of lead-contaminated carcasses in a very discrete manner.
