For you folks that didn't catch his act in the last bicycle rider thread, Quantum Apostrophe declared he is one of those spandex-wearing solipsists who ignore stop lights and signs and blow thru intersections on their bikes, because a bike is good exercise, but apparently, stopping like every vehicle is legally bound to do, then starting up again from a standing start, is TOO MUCH exercise. So, the guy who raves about Life Extension risks becoming a stain on someone's bumper every time he goes out biking.

Why extend the life of someone obviously wanting to throw it away in exchange for a little momentum?

gilatrout: My son asked me the other day, "Who is the better badass, Bond or Kirk?"

I said no contest, it's Kirk. Because scoring with that green skinned girl.. That's badass.

It was actually Captain Pike in the Star Trek pilot "The Cage" who experienced an illusion of being seduced by a green Orion slave girl during one of several attempts by aliens to force him to mate with the human shipwreck survivor Vina.

When Kirk encountered an Orion female in "Whom Gods Destroy", she was one of the criminally insane prisoners controlled by escaped criminal Garth. She tried to seduce a hostile and uninterested Kirk and then she tried to stab him.

In the alternate reality of the 2009 movie, the younger cadet Kirk encountered cadet Uhura's Orion roommate Gaila and made out with her but was interrupted when Uhura returned and kicked him out.

Would hit at warp factor 11.

I think she looks better after she washed the paint off.

I'm pretty sure the first time it moved, she was responsible.

I still like the premise that the universe and everything in it is a virtual reality program running in a giant computer built by some other kind of being.

cfreak: Interesting. I have apparently been living under a rock. I didn't realize that everyone hates that particular Trek episode. I rather liked that one.

Careful. You are straying awfully close to saying "It's just a freakin' TV show, dammit".

I thought it was a nice thematic conceit and yes, a frank admission that you are going to be pretty limited by budgets and CGI on a '90s TV show to "humanoids". They took the odd crack at having kids and dwarves play alien races with overdubbed voices, but it was a little clumsy.

/Clint Howard, my hero.

Contents Under Pressure: Makes me love "Serenity" all the more. The only people in it were .... people.

There's also no faster than light travel in the Firefly universe.

I remember 'The Chase'. After the recorded message, the Klingon present said 'That's all? If she wasn't dead, I'd kill her', and I think a lot of viewers agreed with that.

Dingleberry Dickwad: So after seeing the clip I decided to watch some Farscape on Netflix again only to find it's no longer available, as well as SG-1, and Babylon 5. WTF Netflix!

I don't know if you have a Hulu account, but the first season (maybe two?) of Farscape is on Hulu at this point. Can't help you with the SG-1 or B5...I'm annoyed about that one, as well. I was just about to finish season 8 of SG-1 when they lost the license, and I hadn't had the chance to even start SG:A when it went bye-bye.

All four seasons of Farscape are currently on Amazon Prime Instant video, along with all 10 seasons of SG-1, all 5 of Atlantis, plus The Ark of Truth and Continuum movies. Sadly, no Bab 5 on Prime yet.
