Welcome to Farktography!
This Week's Theme: "Auto Erotica"

Description
: Show us some car porn. Flame jobs, airbrushed lowriders, commercial vehicles with company logos, custom vinyl graphics (i.e. stickers). Lead sleds, chopped tops, and other sculptureal creations. Basically, anything not stock in terms of visuals. Difficulty: vehicle must appear to be operable. (museums, good; junk yard, bad)

We ask that before submitting your photos you read and adhere to the following submission rules, including but not limited to the following:
- Submissions must be photographs; screen captures do not count as photographs.
- You must be the original photographer of your entry. Do not submit anyone else's photography as your own.
- You are only allowed to enter a photograph once. Do not submit the same photo to another contest later.
- You may enter 3 photos in each contest as long as each photo is of a different composition.
- Please post each photo separately so they can be voted for individually.

Please note:
The overarching ideal behind Farktography is that image corrections are acceptable, while adding or removing elements in the image (e.g. removing telephone poles, adding Elvis) is not acceptable. HDR, stitching, or otherwise combining exposures in post processing are not allowed unless specified for a particular theme (multiple exposures done in-camera are acceptable, however). See the rules for more information on acceptable modifications, or check in at the Farktography Forums.

Legal: All photographers submitting photos to this contest are the legal copyright holders for the photos submitted and the photos are not to be considered free for any other use without written consent from the submitting photographers.
- Drop by the Farktography Forum on Fark (new window) or Farktography.net (for chatting, critique, techtalk and so on)
- Stats can be found here.
- Image hosting sites can be found here.

Janis Joplin's Paint Job

Dialing for Dollars must have caught up with her, because Janis Joplin actually did have a Porsche, a 356 she had custom painted like so. This is not her Porsche, but the owner had the paint job reproduced as faithfully as possible, using the original artist.

Got your unenvotenated one, but are the cars in your photos non-stock and/or are they operable?  The Boobies post has the theme description which requires both.

Given Fark's large userbase, I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe that the small sample of users who posted here took these photos themselves. Farktography has been around for 7.5 years, and I've been involved with it for 6.5 of those.  In that 6.5 years, I've only encountered a handful of entries that raised suspicions in terms of who the original photographer was, and those suspicious entries were almost always from someone who just happened to wander into the thread, not people who are regulars or semi-regulars and whose entries show stylistic and technical consistency from one contest to another. I'd invite you to join us in the Fark Farktography Forum here on Fark or over at farktography.net to get to know the Farktographers better; perhaps if you knew and interacted more with the regulars and semi-regulars you could better acquaint yourself with their individual styles and the consistent talent they bring to each theme.

Since this is a contest with a limit of three submissions per person, it's not really the appropriate place to post dozens of photos just to share.  You're welcome to post a link to them, though.  Also, they're cool shots, and we don't get a lot of film.  If you'd like to submit three of your photos for voting, feel free; they should be posted one entry per post if you'd like to do that, and obviously you must have been the original photographer.

Beautiful photos this week! I'm on my phone and can't very well post all the first timers and returning folks, but I'll recognize them as soon as I'm back to a real keyboard. Results aren't final until the thread closes, but at this point, congrats to top finishers wickedfish, Barracuda, bender16v, and I'm No Big Deal! Final winner will be praised and adulated in the Fark Farktography forum and at farktography.net.See everyone next week for "Sepia"!
